My main muscle...
OK, so on a suggestion from LGray23 I decided to introduce everyone to my main muscle Monty. Don't know if male or female, don't know how old, just know that the family loves "him". We have had him for about 2 months now and he has finally started eating really well. When we can get him stretched out he is about 18 inches long and I found a scale to use and he weighs in at about 100g.
Monty...Everyone; Everyone...Monty

He must have shed recently, his head just glows!
Handsome little ball you have there, I'd be proud of him to.

Actually Gale he just shed right before we got him. Matter of fact when we took him out of the cage when we bought him he had a nice fresh shed in there.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Ok now that you can see pictures of him, I have a few questions. Last feeding he finally ate two pinky's (he would only eat one before). So is he ready to move up now to fuzzys? Will I have to do anything special to transition from pinky to fuzzy? Should I have some pinky's on standby just in case he doesn't eat the fuzzy?

Thanks for sharing, "he" sure is gorgeous! He looks to be about the same size as my '10 female spider, she is 105 grams (as of 3 weeks ago, very tiny and the smallest of my collection) and she is currently eating hoppers. I'd say your little "guy" can easily eat hoppers, I think they are more "tasty" than the fuzzies. I am actually upgrading my female to adult mice (hoping she takes them! :please:) this week.

Cute little guy!
Pinkies are usually too small for a BP of any age, so I agree with the other suggestions, hoppers are a good idea!

S/he is a cutie for sure. I love how dark s/he is! :gj:

He looks like quite the charmer. ;) What a cutie!

Re: My main muscle...
Excellent example of a normal bp! Thanks for sharing with us. I'd also recommend bumping him up to 1 rat fuzzie every 5 days rather than pinks. Once you get him around 300 or so grams, he/she should be able to handle a small rat once a week no problem. Welcome to the site!

Thanks again everyone... it looks like he will be getting a food upgrade.

Welcome to the site and very pretty! :gj:

Happy day
I just wanted to share with everyone that when I got up this morning to go to the gym I did my morning check on Monty. I was surprised to see he was busy last night. I am pretty happy to announce that he spent the night shedding and it is the first one since we got him.:banana: It was kind of weird because it never really looked like he was going to shed (his eyes didn't even cloud up), so imagine how surprised/happy I was to see his old clothes laying there:D I spent the last couple of days getting the humidity level right and it must have paid off. :taz:

Just wanted to update that my daughter has decided to change this dudes name to Nibs. She loves Peter Pan and Nibs is one of Peter Pan's lost boys. She changed his name because there are A LOT of people who get a ball python and name it Monty...:rolleye2:

very nice looking ball you have!

I vote for bumping up to rat pups. I think its easier to switch their diet when they are younger.

Yea I just ordered some rats from a local store and I will pick them up on Wednesday but he has been hammering these small mice and I have to get rid of them first. He's got about two more feedings and he will be on rats...I want to keep him on schedule and get my pastel Cody to finally eat and get on his schedule.
