1st feeding for me and my Ball Python

Hi guys, in "introduction" section of the forum I said that I'll try to feed my new baby BP today for the first time (his in my care and mine feeding snakes), I was very anxious b/c I've heard stories that some don't want to eat when moved in strange new environment, etc..
Well I tried,
I thawed a fuzzy, warmed it up in warm water and tried to feed Kundalini (my BP) :) and at first he didn't seem interested, so I dangled that fuzzy in front of him for another 10 seconds, than he started working his tongue, and than BAM, he nailed it!!!:banana::taz::banana::taz::banana:
I was so happy, so I took few pics of his first "kill" in my care!:D

So this big of a prey is a good size for him this big?
It did looked to me like he took it with an ease. :)

While you might be able to go a little bigger, you're not at the point where it's too small, and sometimes sticking to the smaller end of appropriate size is better for first feedings. I wouldn't stock up on that size too much though as you'll probably be up to a bigger size before long.

You bet it is, I was all anxious before this first feeding (will he eat, is everything OK with his set-up,...), but now that he ate I'm so happy I could jump :taz::banana::taz:

Isn't is SUCH an awesome feeling?? I'm a first time Ball owner too, and Axel (my bp) just ate for me 2 days ago for the first time. You would have thought it was the second coming how I went ON and ON about how amazingly happy I was and how wonderful he was...

Sadly, I'm not able to feed him f/t, but freshly dead, he likes. so consider yourself lucky!! :P

I bought it at Reptile Expo, it's made of the same material as terracotta pot. I thought it looked nice so I bought it for my BP. :D

xD When Axel was digesting, he did that. He was like..."I wanna come out, but I gotta sleep this thing off!" hehe, then he stretched all the way out, and I was lucky enough to see him get a big drink of water, before quickly returning. So cool!!

Haha, yes it's so adorable!:oops: He's been in his hide since I fed him the night before yesterday. :) That is how it's supposed to be, right?
