Question about my spider python
I bought a spider ball python today. On most pictures on the internet, it looks like most spiders don't have circles in their markings, the one I bought has them. Does that mean it is a different morph? It does have the head bob, which I know is common in spiders. Do any other morphs have that? I can put up a picture if it would be easier. Thanks so much for any input.

Some spiders do have the little circles you're talking about. Others don't.
Pictures would help you 100% if you want us to tell you if you do have a spider or not

Re: Question about my spider python
Yup, some spiders have them and some don't, it just depends on the individual. You could say that the ones with the little circles are more of a busy pattern, where the ones without are more reduced, but it's all a matter of taste. Pictures would be nice!
As far as the wobble, as far as I know it's only snakes with the spider gene that have it (so spiders, and any spider combo will have a wobble).

I'm a little confused about one thing with the labeling of the morphs. By "spider combo" having the head bob, does that include bumblebees (and others that don't have "spider" in the name) or just ones like a Pastel Spider? Thanks so much for such a quick response!

Re: Question about my spider python
A bumblebee is a pastel spider, the only difference is common name vs listing the morph. ANY combination that has spider in it has a chance of wobbling.

Here he is

Ok the picture didn't work, but thank you for answering my obvious questions, haha

Yes, those spots are normal.

Usually the higher quality the spider, the less spots in most cases. Woma's can have some wobble as well. It doesn't seem as prelevent as with Spiders though.

That's definitely a spider. :gj:

Very unique, I've never seen a spider with spots, but it's definitely a spider. And as far as the wobble, anything with the spider gene (not the spider name necessarily) will have a wobble from barely noticeable to horrible. Some outgrow it, and some get worse, it is the luck of the draw. I have a very soft spot for spiders, I love them specifically because of the wobble and awesome patterns. My little girl is just the sweetest thing when she looks up at me with that wobble, I just want to squeeze her lol. Congrats though, your spider is definitely unique looking.

I was wondering if I was the only one who thought wobbles were completely adorable. :D
This one is so pretty.

Off topic, but woma's can wobble?! Oh bummer. That just made a couple of my hopes and dreams fall flat. I'll look into this. :( Thanks for the heads up.

I am with you guys. I love everything about a spider including the wobble. I don't mind it. Its like rejecting your own child because he was born with parkinson's. :colbert:

If that child was purposely made knowing it would suffer with parkinsons it's entire life. I don't believe Spiders and their combos suffer one bit though. They seem to excel in most things. I love spiders, I can deal with the wobble (mine doesn't show any except a little bit after he's struck and constricted), but it is definitely not the same. I respect the people that won't breed based on that and was hesitant myself, but I recently realized my Bee is the most relaxed, stress free, best eating snake I own. If the issue was as bad as some people think, then the snakes wouldn't be alive to represent themselves. A wild caught specimen would never have made it. To each his own though...

I agree with you, but how many women over 35 have children KNOWING their chances of having a child with special needs raises after that age? Women are having children much later in life knowing all the risks that go with it. I have a perfectly normal (normal for my family ;) ) little 6 year old sister, my mom had her at 41 knowing what the risks were. People DO "breed" knowing there are risks/possibilites of birth defects. Like you said if the wobble was as bad as most make it out to be, they wouldn't survive. Survival of the fittest right?
