is this a lesser?please help need to know

K so i bought a female lesser of a local breeder but im new to snake and want to make sure i didnt get the wrong snake. and looking at pictures online mine look a bit different. and if it isnt a lesser i want to contact them, but really hoping im just being paranoid.
please help. thank you.

Lessers come in a wide variety of shades, and yours just looks like a slightly darker one... pretty snake, though! I almost thought it was a Mojave in the first pic, but the second one definitely screams Lesser. :gj:

P.S. My Lesser is in my avatar pic right now... she is particularly light/blushed, but you can see how the sides are very similar to yours.

I thought mojave at first too, but after looking a second time it's definitely lesser looking. Congrats on the new pickup :)

Here is my female mojo for comparison. I'm thinking it is a dark lesser, but man this one is tough. Hopefully some of the more experienced breeders can give a concrete answer.

This is a tough one. Sort of looks Mojo, but being that it was sold as a Lesser...I am going to say it is just a dark Lesser. It has a lot of alien heads for a lesser too?

Looks more like a Mojo than a lesser to me. As others have mentioned though, it could be just a darker than typical lesser.

100% sure it was lesser.

Are you the one who sold the OP the snake?

BTW, I don't claim to be experienced enough to spot the subtle differences in some morphs, but Mojave was my original thought also...

those flames/ light sides make me think lesser. by no stretch an expert, but with the pictures, and the fact that it was sold as a lesser, I would bet on it being a lesser

Looks Mojave to me.

To me, first pic looks like a mojave and 2nd pic looks like a lesser. To answer your question, I don't know:confused:

I think it's a Mojave as well. A really, really, really nice Mojave.

I know you wanted it to be a lesser, is there any chance you can get pictures of the parents ? If one was a BEL, maybe the breeder didn't know it was a Mojo ?

I've seen some dark lessers, but it's not so much the snake being dark as it's the wrong hue to me. Does that make sense ?

I think it's an amazing snake, but if it's not what you wanted, I can understand being dissapointed/upset.

Looks just like my mojo. I'd post an up to date pic but he's in blue right now. Mine is light for a mojo but thats how I bought him. It could just be that the pictures don't pic up his/her color well?:confused:

I say dark lesser the first pics you shared made my decision it looks like its in shed in the second 2 pics.

google mojave ball python and lesser ball python, as far as averages go I'd say lesser, but there are mojaves that look like it also

Hmm.. that lesser you posted looks like the lightest lesser I have ever, ever seen. :P

They're so insanely close that I can never tell the difference between the two! I'd say, if you're still uncertain, contact the breeder again and ask the pairing of the parents and if it might possibly be a mojo as opposed to lesser.

BUT! If they say it's a lesser, I'm leaning towards that.. I don't see any reason why someone would say one is the other, especially since your snake is really on the middle line between the two morphs. But then again.. who knows? Could be an honest mistake! None of us could really, reeeeaaally know for certain though, all we can do is throw mojo and lesser back and forth. ;]

Either way, gorgeous snake! I love how busy the patterning is.
