I'm getting a new phone, I'm getting a new phone!!!
Verizon was kind enough to text me to let me know that my one year since my last upgrade is done, and I can upgrade now with another 2 year contract (really just adds 1 year to what I still have - and I'm not leaving Verizon, been with them since '96 - well AirTouch got taken over by Verizon - but still).
So....called them up to see if they'd put the charge of the new phone on my bill and they said sure - and my new HTC Thunderbolt will be here next Tuesday!!! I'm in a 4G network - very excited about this baby!!!!!

Excellent! Hope you love it, I've read good things about it. I'm due for an upgrade but am waiting for the Droid 3.

Wait till the HTC EVO 3D comes out this summer. Will put all Droids to shame out to date.

No interest in Sprint EVER! LOL
Besides, all smart phones are out to date within a few months. Just pick the phone you want and enjoy it! I know I will!

I guess because I started with a HTC, I really like Sense. I get lost on the Motorola's that I've played with!:P

That is what I love about my phone now, vanilla Android. No Blur, no Sense...no nothing but plain goodness! I so hope they don't Blur up the 3, but I use Zeam launcher anyway so I guess it won't be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

I LOVE it! It's a beast! And now I'm grandfathered into the unlimited data plan if/when Verizon rolls out tiered plans this summer as rumored.
I couldn't go back to the Incredible now, it feels like a toy compared to this phone. There's nothing about this phone that I DON'T like!

How is the battery life?

Re: I'm getting a new phone, I'm getting a new phone!!!
I have the same phone and love it as well. Battery life isn't great, but it's not as bad as some make it sound. I run 3g and wifi and only switch to 4g if I need it and it's available. The battery life has gotten better in the month or so that I have had the phone as well.
To be honest, unless you use some big honking battery how good of battery life would you expect on a modern smartphone. I did pick up the big battery with the extended back they make and plan to use it only when golfing so I can make it through a round with golflogix. But with a few calls, 10-20 txts, hourly email checking, and a little data I still make it a whole day without charging.

Once you calibrate the battery, it's pretty respectable for a phone that does as much as this phone can do.
I'm getting about a day on mine. I'm considering buying an extended battery just for long weekends, like reptile shows, but use stock for day to day.

Invest in a car charger as well, I sell them and your right about how the size of the phone and what all it can do, sorta will drain the battery life fairly quickly with heavy usage in a short period of time.
If they are not already, make sure your Wifi, Bluetooth, and GPS are off when you are not useing them, because they are all constantly searching for signals and that will really put a strain on the battery.

All that I look for in a smartphone is to get a full day of usage. I'm sure you'll be able to get that as long as you aren't tethering without it plugged in.

This isn't my first Android rodeo! ;)
I've got two car chargers - one I already had and another one that came bundled with a case I bought, so I'm good. I rarely use the car charger, actually - because I've got good battery maintenance practices. :)
