    Yellow cinnamon ASF?
I just found this photo of an ASF whose colouring I find quite lovely.
    http://aqualandpetsplus.com/Animal431.jpg

Has anyone else seen a colour pop up like this in their litters?
I'm pretty sure it's a really really light cinnamon, but I've never seen one so yellow.

    Any info?

Does it have red eyes, though?

I have one with similar colors. I'm not sure if she is that light though. I will try to get a picture tomorrow.:P

Great! Let me know, cause if you have some that are light enough I might have Beth come pick some more up from you. . . :D

She likes the ones she's holding for me so much she's been talking about coming up there to get some from you for herself. :P

Thanks for the kind words! I'm going to trade for some of her mice when she gets a chance to make the trip.:D

I was mistaken on the sex. He is the male in the tub. He has produced some very different shades of agouti's, but nothing as yellow as himself yet. Some are really dark, others more grey, and some yellowish.

Wow. Out of several hundred ASFs I'm pretty sure all of mine look the same. Are those colors/patterns just random mutations, or is it like a BP morph that has to be introduced?

Yeah, I just checked and they all have the same boring pattern. Some of their colors do look slightly less dark than the others though.

I think that they are similar to Ball Morph's.
I don't know a lot about the genetics of ASF's, but I keep whats different and breed it back. Every time I come across a color that I don't have, I add it to my colony.

I started with ASF's about a year ago with a 1.5 trio of regular Pieds. They threw a few babies with more white than normal. I kept those and bred them back. I figured out that if you breed 2 high white animals they will produce some babies with more white than the parents. Long story short. I'm now producing high white and all white animals. I just produced a litter that had 3 black eyed whites, 1 platinum, and one odd ear!! That has been my best litter so far!!:D

Looks like what both of you have there are cinnamons and agouti. Nice cinnamon boy though, Koolo. I'm trying to breed for a redder, darker pigment in my cinnamons.
Finally got ONE solid cinnamon baby. Crossing my fingers about it, the last one got eaten. :(

I'm just fascinated by the pic I posted, I'd love to find some of the same colour, I'm sure it's just a really really light cinnamon or agouti, but either way, it would be a great colour to work with!

Spitzu, your ASFs look fat an happy! :D

Koolo, here's a genetics chart for ASFs

    Agouti A-
    Cinnamon A- bb
    Argente A- B- pp
    Cinnamon-Argente A- bb pp
    Ruby Eyed A- B- P- "ru""ru"
    Ruby Eyed Cinnamon A- bb P- "ru""ru"
    Ruby Eyed Argente A- B- pp "ru""ru"
    Ruby Eyed Cinnamon-Argente A- bb pp "ru""ru"
    Head-spot variegation -- -- -- -- Ww
    Saddle variegation -- -- -- -- WW
    Platinum A- B- P- "Ru"- W*W*
Black Eyed White A- bb P- "Ru"- W*W*
Pink Eyed White A- B- pp "Ru"- W*W*
    Ruby Eyed White A- B- P- "ru""ru" W*W*
    High White Head-spot variegation -- -- -- -- W*w
    High White Saddle variegation -- -- -- -- W*W

Also, are you on the ASF forum? I can't remember.
Either way, if you can grab some individual photos of some of your high whites and platinums, It would be really helpful to add to the genetics chart, so that people have photo references. . . :D

No, I did not know that there was one. Please give me a link! I would be more than happy to post some pictures.:)

Awesome! I'm just starting to really update the genetics chart. I've just added some descriptions, and some photos, I plan on taking photos of my argente and cinnamon argentes when I get home, to add to the chart. I'm a mod over there, it's pretty slow, but I'm building up a lot of good info over there on genetics and breeding.

I'm pretty sure you have Ruby eyed agouti and maybe ruby eyed cinnamons?
Definitely need photos of those, I have none over here. :(

I've got some solid ruby eyed cinnamons that pop out what kinda looks like a lighter one now and then at least as juveniles, but I haven't been seperating them out for a project, not enough room. Way too focused on the high white project. That particular trio is two headspot moms with a self amber (or whatever the heck they're calling it now) male.

Next one pops up, I'll get some pics.

There is no albino gene in ASFs right now. The pink eyed yellow-ish ones are called argente. ;)

So not to confuse anyone the forum owned by Heath Warren did not move to a new domain (which is the idea people might have got from your previous post), but you and rhasputin created a new forum that is no way related to http://asfrats.info/ correct?

Thanks Deb - that was exactly what confused me, when he said that he was moving Heath's site to a new domain. I was thinking that somehow he and rhasputin now owned Heath's old site. But in reality, nothing was moved - just a competing/new forum was created. Got it!

Sorry now that i look at how i worded it, it makes no sense.. Meant the the idea of an asf specific site was moved. But no it is completley new and all its own. Had the other one not had the spam issue it has i would not of bothered because imo there were lots of great info on the other one.
