    I freaked out ! Please HELP !
I have a female bp, she is bought as an adult.

I always feed her small rats and she is doing very well.

Today, I feed her the first one, and she took it right away. 20 Mins later, I check once, she still eating it. 30 mins later I check again, so throw-out the dead rat.

The whole rat is wet, so I know she swallow the whole rat in and then maybe when I check her, I scared her so he throw-up.

After that, she won't take the second small rat again. I mean another live one!

What can I do? Will she fast forever??

    Please HELP !

It sounds like it was too big for her.

It is not too big for her. She is 950 gram. I feed the same size rat to my 600 gram male.

The seller told me she took medium rats. I don't like to feed my bps big meal, so I always feed her 2 small rat instead of one big medium.

She always take 2 small rats. Today, this is her first one. Then this happen.

What Can I do? Will she be OK or she will become a picky eater? I read something in the past said a bp throw up is very bad thing.

Were you handling her at all after her meal?

I think it is more unusual for a BP regurgitate than a colubrid, but did she swallow it all the way? Maybe she just wasn't "hungry."

She swallow most of the rat I guess. Because most of the rat looks so wet.

I didn't handle her before or after. I will let her rest.

    Thanks

Just wait until next scheduled feeding date and attempt to feed her again. And how long has she been in your care? Has she had time to settle in to limit it's stress level?

It is possible that she swallowed it backwards. I would have left it in there for a few hours. My bee sometimes takes awhile to get it down if he strikes near the back of the rodent. It's always gone later though. I wouldn't worry too much.

2 sm rats is too much for a 900g ball. I dont even feed 2 to females over 2000g.

One small rat ever 5 days is plenty

You should wait 2 weeks after a regurgitation to allow the stomach flora to re-build.

Calm down, leave her alone. She won't starve in 2 weeks! :)

She was with me for few month already.

She is always the best feeder. She takes anything.

The ex owner said she feeds on medium rats and she may take F/T

I have always give her F/T small rat since I got her. never had a problem.

Today, I when to check a bit early, and when I found her still eating, I try to closer the tube. But it won't slid in. It took awhile for me to get the tub in. Maybe that is when I scare her.

    :(

    So worry now.

    Thanks guy

    Thanks all for the replies.

She didn't take it backward. And she throw out the whole rat, I don't think she wants to take it again.

I will wait for 2 weeks. and try a fuzzy rat first.

It is possible the rat got plopped in the water bowl. But, since you don't know for sure, treat it as a possible regurgitation and wait 2 weeks before feeding again...
