I was worried when I got mine that I should only use distilled...so glad I wasn't the only one. :D

Has anyone / does anyone actually dechlorinate(d) their water?

I use de-chlorinated water too. There is quite a lot of chorine in our tap water. Oh by the way distilled water in theory isn't good to drink (osmosis) in practise I am not sure it matters.

i do reverse osmosis and water softners for a living.... i would never use tap water for any of my snakes or my feeder rats... water in az is really bad... if you wanna no how bad your water is... buy a "tds meter" or ppm meter.. same thing and this will tell you how bad your water is... any thing over 600 ppm i would filter it any thing lower then like 300 would be ok.. my water is 1400 ppm so its rally bad where i live.....

Re: Quick Water Question
I set up a taste-testing station with three unmarked bowls: Perrier, Fiji, and bathroom sink. Motion activated camera shows my BP going from bowl-to-bowl tasting all three. Poo-ed in Perrier, gave a nod to Fiji, and a big proverbial thumbs up to bathroom sink.
Tip: Leave tap water sit out overnight and most of the chlorine gas with evaporate out.
