Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
What is you least favorite ball python morph? A couple I do not care for are pinstripes and G-stripes. I do not care for stripes in general.
(This is a re-post thread since the original was lost. Everyone seemed to be responding to it so please re-post!)
-
Reposting my apparently rare dislike of pieds. :P
Also, I don't like albinos or calicos much, especially for their price.

I'm sticking with Enchis :P

I don't care for pinstripes very much.

[QUOTE=Ladybugzcrunch;1552667] G-stripes. I do not care for stripes in general.
(QUOTE]
Take a look at the axanthic g stripe it will change your mind:gj:
-
I don't like Enchis, G stripes, pinstripes, Enchis, granites, low-yellow pastels, Enchis, or womas. Did I mention Enchi?
-
-
Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
still don't like those wobblen spiders or those ugly pattern killing champs, but i would also like to add axanthic. all that work to produce wicked looking babies that just look like normal adults.
-
Not a fan of axanthics or red axanthics one bit.
I don't understand the dislike of enchis, they are one of the few morphs that get better with age, and their combos are incredible.
-
Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
Axanthic, burgundy, sable, chocolate and pretty much any other codom that looks like a normal and doesnt have a killer super to make up for it.
-
Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
Pieds are my least favorite hands down.
-
i really can't say ive seen any that i just hated. i see better examples of some morphs, but they are all great to me. sorry to be sappy thats just how i feel.
-
Lol one of Disappeared posts... I see.. Mkay one more time...
I CANT STAND ALBINO AND ALBINO COMBOS (Caramels/Ultramels and Bananas included)..... and i really don't care for Spiders and most of Spiders combos.. I'm a Pinstripe Guy
-
I'm not a fan of Albino's, though I do like the Lavender Albino's very much. Go Figure! Also, i'm not a fan of Axanthics, Chocolates, Sables, Pewters, Champagnes, Super Cinnamons, Super Black Pastels, Silver Bullets, Silver Streaks, Camo Balls, Jigsaws or Kingpins.
-
Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
i'm so picky when it comes to bp morphs i think are cool. right now theres a very small handful that i like which ends up cutting out about 90% of whats on the morph list on worldofballpythonmorphs.com.
seems shallow, i know.
-
Not a fan of Pinstripes, Chocolate, Sables and Axanthics. I do like some pin combos.
-
There's really no morph I dislike, but I will admit I am not the biggest fan of Champagnes by themselves. Champagne combos often look amazing, but by itself is just not impressive, in my opinion. Othe than that, I haven't come across any morph I dislike. Have to have them all. :P
-
I also have the rare piebald dislike. It just looks messy to me. I'm sorry, please don't yell at me!!
-
i dont like any dark colour morphs.n i really dont like any morphs that have "paradox" in it name.
-
Not a fan of the darker colors, nor do I like the spotnose or yellowbellies.
-
I do not care about Champagne, Sable, Chocolate.
I use not to care much about Pin and Enchi however after getting to see a few combos in person and seeing some great examples (especially enchi) they started to grow on meand now I could not imagine my collection without them.

Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
I like lots of patterns, i.e. no pieds, leucies, ivories, super cinnies, etc. Any solid colored snake (with some exceptions) is not appealing in the least.
-
Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
Albino anything. Hate albinos.
-
it seems the "rare pied dislike" isn't so rare anymore LOL
-
I don't know... They all have their pro's and con's. But I guess, for me, Albino's don't do much. However, I do really like Cinnamon Albino's. But that's pretty much it. :P
-
Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
I understand the dislike of pieds. When I first saw them in Reptiles Mag in the mid 90's I thought they were ugly as well. Took me a good 15 years and some cool combos for me to come around to appreciating them.
I'm not really into axanthics, cinnies or other normal looking dark morphs. But the super cinnies / blk pastels are cool and should make some nice combos, and the hypo blk pastels are pretty sweet.
Combo wise I hate everything about the pastave. It's ugly and has a stupid name. I will never have one in my collection. :taz:
-
Oh, I also hate "I destroy the pattern of everything' champagnes.
-
Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
Least favorite would probably be piebald because IMO white/pattern/white often breaks up the graceful lines of the snake in an unpleasant way, but that's not too say there aren't some really cool isolated patterns created, such as smiley-faced pumpkins, etc. Also, not a fan of anything with pink eyes, cinnamons, chocolates, or scale tones that look too faded-out, however I do like some carmels and butters.
Not thrilled about fancy 'paint jobs' just for the sake of being way-cool or very rare if it compromises the health of the animal. As many have pointed out, this seems to be the case with wobbly bees or when reinforcing some recessive genes that bring along serious health problems.
My overall favorites: Mojave, Enchi, and Pastels ... and really like plain-old Normals since Mother Nature does some beautiful work on her own!
-
Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
All of them. Just not a fan of BP's in general
-
I like them all , normals too
-
Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
well i dont like the g stripes well most of them and albinos and pieds!!!
I am a clown person!! and the morphs i dont like the most are normals and they are a morph and i dont like them few exceptions!!!
-
I'm not crazy about most normals, high white pieds (I like LOW white ones), albinos, or yellow bellies.
A better question is "what morphs DO you like?" :D

I read that as "condom"...
-
Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
Hmmm, that's a tough one, since they're all beautiful in their own way... but I guess if I had to pick some out, I'm not too big on cinnamons, and I've never been fond of pewters, sables or g-stripes either. Some of their combos are pretty cool, but I would never go out of my way to buy any of them.

I would suggest doing a little research on both subjects
More me its sable, the slightly dark normal
Im also in dislike pied group, their interesting but id rather see a clean BEL.
-
I just want to say YBs alone aren't supposed to be anything more visually special than a nice normal but it's their breeding potential than makes them a great morph.
-
I appreciate most morphs for what they are and/or their potential influence on other morphs. That said, I'm not a big fan of pastels or spiders.
Pastels for their coloration and spiders for the neuro issues. Have seen some pretty awesome examples of both, just not interested in having either in my collection. I guess I'm the exception, in that I like the pieds, albinos, pewters, etc., lol! Oh well, lol :D

Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
I don't like spiders,bumble bees, and lessers.

Thanks for the suggestion. What reliable resources can you recommend that clarify which morphs - if any - have a higher than normal congenital health problems?

The search function on the forum is your best bet since its a collaboration of multiple people that can debate, not just one source.
I don't see evidence of the spider gene compromising the health of the animal at all. here's a write up I did, I was more focused on just answering general questions asked all the time about spiders. http://www.owalreptiles.com/articles/spider.php

I don't like Spiders, Piebalds, Lemon Blasts, Dreamsickles, and I don't care too much for Pastels, but they're starting to grow on me a little.
-
Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
I'm not really a fan of the pinstripe.

Call me crazy, but I've never been a fan of mojaves.
-
Re: Least Favorite Ball Python Morphs
i guess im the opp. when it comes to the pastel and darker snakes i like them both. i dont care for albinos and high white pieds but low white i like. i dont care for spiders either they are nice to look at but their issues throw me off about them and everything that has the gene. i do want a black pastel and cinny and pewter and another pastel. but other then that i like them all they all have their own personality and colors no matter if its a 60 dollar normal all the way up to the thousands of dollar morphs i like them all :gj::snake:
-
The only morphs I really DO like are pastels, spiders, pieds, and leucis. I think my least favorites are probably pinstripes, g stripes, mojaves, cinnies, lessers, and most of the newer high-end morphs (Fire, pewter, striated, etc) I like lots of patterns or reduced but still recognizable patterns, and high contrast. Except in albinos, I like low contrast.

Thanks for the link ... very interesting reading! This is a great place to research and learn. Glad to hear there aren't a considerable number of health problems with spiders (I now realize I had mistakenly type 'bees' instead of spiders). Also, I was perhaps overly concerned about the ethics. Thanks for the helpful info and advice.
-
Nothing I really hate, although spiders with their wobble and caramels which are often born kinked and whatnot... not too fond of. I don't like the idea of breeding animals with known genetic problems & defects. I will say that I love the look of both of those morphs, though. I can see why people breed them, I just don't really agree with it.
Axanthics would top my list for a morph that doesn't do it for me looks-wise... I like colour. Champagnes I don't really like much either.

Me either, but every so often I'll see one that makes me go WOW! Not to mention, the combos they can create are amazing... so I might be tempted to get one eventually, LOL. ;)
