    Update on my rescue.
well, Slinky is doing very well. Here's an update on her weights since I got her last December. Jan 5 - 322gms, Feb 2 - 428gms, Mar 2 - 508gms, Apr 1 - 567gms. Does this sound like a proper weight gain? When I first got her she had a bad case of intestinal worms, with a trip to the vet and some proper meds I think I've got her fixed up.

What is your feeding schedule like? As far as I'm concerned, it sounds like you're doing everything right and as long as she's eating, pooping and shedding normally, you're in the clear. :gj:

She eats a small rat every sunday. I feed all my snakes on sundays. she has been pooping regularly. When I first got her she her vent was very raw and irritated. But she had been left unattended for 7 weeks by her prior non-owners. After some meds from the vet and a couple of sheds this problem with her vent cleared up.

Thankyou, however, I couldn't have done it without a lot of help and advice from the people on this fourm. She was in such bad shape when I got her, now she is stating to get a little fiesty. She is very light in color. I'm hoping she becomes a good dinker when she is old enough to breed.

Sorry, won't have new pics up until next week. My other half took our camera to New York.

She didn't look too bad -- just really small. Kind of like a craigslist rescue that I got about a year ago -- although the person I got her from thought she was taken care of perfectly and has no idea that I consider her a rescue. She had dented eyes and was an underfed 700g three year old.

She eats like a champ, and doubled her weight in about 8 months. She has been locking with my spider, and I am not sure but think she may have ovulated and we might have eggs in about a month.

It's amazing what a little proper husbandry will do for a snake!! It's not compicated, just way too many misinformed bp owners out there!!!

    Good work!!!

Thanks George. When I first got her she had a nasty case of internal parasites and her vent was very raw. She had gone 7 wks without care abandoned in a house with out fresh water, electricity, or heat. She was a little under weight. Like I posted earlier, with a trip to the vet, some proper meds and good husbandry, I think I have pulled her through. She has been gaining weight nicely and I am excited about pairing her when she reaches proper size for breeding, probably still 2yrs out.
