    HELP!! Lost Crestie!!
I was cleaning it's cage and it jumped out of my hand. I tried to get it back and it jumped to the floor and rand to the closet.

I tore the closet apart. I couldn't find it. I am such a failure... :(:(:tears:

Has anyone ever lost one before...Any ideas? I put some CGD out.

So has anyone else ever lost a gecko or is it just me? No pointers? I'd sprinkle flor in my closet but given they climb that seems fruitless.

I put it's cage in there as well as it's food. I'm gonna go in after awhile a search a 3rd time with my flashlight

Look high and dark. You could wait till night time. It'll come out of hiding.

Chances are you'll find him once he decides he's a little chilly and would like some place warm. You could set out a little bowl of food for him and see if he leaves footprints to his hiding place =) Don't worry yet, you'll likely find him and get him.

Problem really is is that cresties are low heat animals. They like house temps. So The fact that he might get chilly probably won't happen. I keep my group on my regular house temps year round.

    Hi,

I don't have any advice except sitting up late with a nice powerful torch and possibly putting hide boxes out in the hope he uses one of them. :(

I hope you find him though :please: - I always worry about this happening with my little guy too as he still doesn't like handling and would happily jump off my hands.

like Homegrownscales said room temps are good for crested. mine jumped ran under the fridge. i was afraid to get bit and let her run under the fridge... luckily i had my friend over and we dumped the fridge and lifted it. i was afraid of rolling it over her. my suggestion just keep looking and risk the bite it will save you the head ache of chasing it again.

good luck u will find it!!!!!

Got him!! A matter of inches from where I lost him!!

Thank the lord! I was so scared. This was truly an answer of prayers. I was scared to grab him the first time he ran, and I grabbed him firmly this time so I pray I didn't grab him to hard but I didn't want him to get away, I tried to be firm but gentle. :please:

Just happy he is okay and home again.

I wasn't really scared of the bite I was more scared of grabbing the little one to hard. But I decided I had to give it my all this time when I saw it. Hopefully I grabbed it just right.

    Glad you caught him. :)

I actually leave my guy in the tank for the basic clean ( where I mainly just replace the paper towels and clean the water dish ). He stays in the foliage and watches me and, so far, hasn't tried to escape.

To blo0: Cresteds rarely bite in defense, I've certainly never had it happen to me. The only rhac that has gotten me was a gargoyle, and really it couldn't even draw blood. Seriously, a crested isn't going to bite you, and if it did it's not going to hurt.

My young crestie has bitten me twice, but it was purely by accident (I thought it would be cute to hand-feed her and she missed! :P ). Trust me, you'll laugh at yourself for being scared if you ever do get bitten. I hardly felt her, and didn't even jump. It was actually pretty amusing to watch. :)

Well the thing that gets me is not the actual bite but my reaction to the bite.when I got her the guy said she doesn't bite and she bit him. Lol moment. just something to get used to I know my pit can draw blood but never ever bit me. I guess its the aura of reptiles.. love em but all the brainwashing still isn't out my system

Ya that crestie will be big enough to eat you and your pets and kids one day. Rotfl!!
The brainwashing thing is hard to get rid of. Come away from the darkness come into the light of truth. Haha
