Any Advice on perches? I mixed some repashy by the directions. 1 cup repashy 2 cups water. And I put them in bottle caps from sprite two liters right infront of there hides.

    Am I forgetting something?

I would give them a lot more cover to hide in so they feel more secure. All the ones I had never used hides on the ground, but perched and slept in their plants and climbing things.

I always gave my Cresties a small water dish also, just in case, because I had seen some drink out of it.

    Super cute by the way!

You can't see it but there's a small rock hide and s small rock water dish in each faunarium. Also the Fake plan and rubber Ice cube tray went in as clutter/perches. I set it so the foliage shaded the hide entrance.

I was at the dollar tree searching for perches! I figure if they could climb egg crate they could clime it and maybe the fake plant to.

I placed them in separate vivs because I heard that was best. But alot of people have said you can house babies togather.

How true is this and when is it best to separate them if so?

Keep them separate. It is a lot easier to see if they are eating and pooping this way because some don't like the Crested Gecko diet so it's good to see if they are eating it.

ACK! I was hoping For Repashy to be my go to food, When should I expect to see droppings?

I mixed it like it said I think, I hope it was thick enough it coated the spoon. Then I spooned it into a sprice bottle cap and froze the rest in an ice cube tray. Is this right?

If They won't eat it I go to crickets and Mashed tropical fruit right? Can you use canned fruit or is that a no no?

I will keep them separate for sure. I think I spotted a little bug in one of the cages.

Did you get the regular Repashy food? Sometimes it takes them a little while to get used to it because if I remember correctly they changed something about the food that made it taste different and it wasn't a big hit but most Crestie's still gobble it up. They have different flavors other than the regular also.

You can mix a tiny bit of peach or mango baby food in with the Repashy, and then once they start eating it, you wean them off the baby food.

Most of the time my babies were pooping every day or every other day.

I put a very small amount of CGD in their bowls because then I would know if they were eating it because there would be tongue marks in it :P

I never froze mine, just made it every night and fed them, because they don't eat a lot. Maybe a couple licks a night.

I never fed fruits, Crestie's can live fine on just protein. Having them on only CGD will keep them healthy, they will just grow a lot slower. When I had my two babies, one didn't like bugs and the other was a bug loving fiend. They were the same age but the one who ate bugs was double the size of the one who didn't like them after a couple months.

I plan to do crickets once a week. Regular was all they had at the show, sadly I bought a big bag. He said they stopped making the two bag forumla cause people mixed it wrong. If I needed to mix fruit baby food how much should I mix per say 5 oz?

I freeze cause my job keeps me slightly busy and I heard it was a time saver.

Well, if you are putting it in a sprite lid, say, half a sprite lid full of CGD, I was putting maybe, half a penny size amount of baby food and stirring it together.

Crickets grow pretty fast so if you keep them around and feed them good for a week they will get bigger.

If you can't find crickets for 'em, no biggie. All my geckos except females that are close to breeding size or breeding get strictly CGD.

As for decoration, I've used fake vines from wal-mart's craft section.. no glitter or stuff like that, just the plain leafy vines. For baby cresteds, you can just jam a curled up section in there, and because it's fairly stiff it will create vertical space for them to climb in.

I was pondering using a length pf PVC and some suction cups with hooks to make a little hanging tunnel but I didn't know if they'd use it.

I guess beer bottle are out? A roommate suggested that and It just seemed like a terrible idea.

I use paper towel rolls and small PVC pipes for perches (along with fake plants of course), and toilet paper rolls for ground hides. My crestie loves them!! :D

Do you sand the PVC at all? I have some gargs to and I hear they need a rougher surface as they grow.

No, I don't sand them, but that is a good idea if that's what gargs need! But from what I've read about cresties, they can climb any kind of surface, and I've seen her jumping around on them with no grip problems.

Gargs have pretty decent claws and use them to grab on to the bark of trees and their branches. If you look at a crestie on glass, and compare their feet to a garg's, it's pretty easy to see that the gecko's feet are "better" at creating Van der Waals forces. CGs have claws too, but I do find they do better on smooth surfaces than gargs.

Regardless, I find that they all just prefer rough surfaces. My cresteds like to hide behind leaves and in plant-y stuff, while my experience with gargoyle geckos leads me to believe they're a little more tolerant of just chilling out on a chunk of cork bark in the semi-open.

NEVER feed baby food to your crestie .... the only reason a crestie will eat it is because its sweet , same way as a child would rather eat candy than healthy food....

All cresties will eat the CGD when they get hungry might take a while but theyre not going to starve themselves.... the CGD is designed to be a complete food source with everything they Need .... Crickets most people only feed a few once every week or two dusted in calcium:gj:

For perches I just get 6 foot x inch or two bamboo poles from Michael's craft store and cut to size
