What to get with 10K
If you had 10k and wanted to produce different pied and lesser combos what would you get. Also what other morph would you want to work with. You already have caging for up to 50 adults. I have the caging and the money trying to decide what to get now. Want to have three foundation morphs I work with two being pied and lesser not sure on the other.

Nah. You can get a hatchling Desert for 3k] right now. It may drop in price a bit in the summer/fall, but who knows.

I should say I want at least 12 snakes. Two males and ten females. Some of the females can be normals if the males are morph powerhouses.

If I had the money I'd love to start a Banana Ball Project. http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/banana-ball/
There are also a bunch of great high end Pied project I've seen over at Steve Roussis's site. I'd recommend checking out his Spieds, Pastel/Killer Pieds, and Albino Pieds. http://www.roussisreptiles.com/available.html
Also J.Kobylka has a bunch of high end BP projects you may want to check out such as the Pyro Pied. http://www.jkobylkareptiles.com/index.php

Personally I would find male morphs that are super forms, double or triple genes, like a BEL, Lesser bee or Queen bee, a killer queen bee wouldn't be bad to have because everything you get would contain the pastel gene. As for pieds it really depends on what you want to produce. It might be an idea to buy a male pied and several females that are het for pied. You could get some pastel or spider females het for pied and have a 25% chance of producing spied or pastel pieds.

Definately what I am thinking. Been looking for a nice killer queen bee. I am being pretty selective. Don't want to get get one to get one. I want to really be selective on how the snakes look and such. Haven't seen many for sale though.

I am possibly thinking of my third foundation being a clown.

I'm not 100% on the currentl price of Banana Balls but last I heard they were going for about 10k. Although yeah, now that I think about I doubt he would want to spend his entire budget on 1 snake.

I could maybe see that for a hatchling female, but I have a hard time believing males are going for that cheap. I'm about to go get a 2nd mortgage if that's the case!

If I were you, I'd get a 3 gene male right away. That'll set you back about $2,500-$3,500 depending on what morphs are involved. Since you like Lessers, I'd say get a Queen Bee or Butterfly.
I'd get 3-4 adult Normal females that will be ready to go in September.
With the rest of your budget, I'd get a Piebald female or two, another recessive female, and if there's anything left, some co-dom females. All hatchlings-yearlings. Depending on what sort of deals you can find. Try to stay away from genes that are already within your foundation male, so you have more of a variety.
In September (or whenever), breed your 3 gene male to your normal girls and hold back all the females you wish.
This, in my opinion, would be the smartest way to spend that budget.
Good luck!! :)

Re: What to get with 10K
What I would do would be get a male pied and a codom het pied(pastel, lesser, spider ect..) and/or some het females for your pied project say $3000.
I would get a male clown and a codom het clown and/or het clown females for a clown project say $3000 also
and with the remaining $4000 Get a queen bee or similar 3 gene male and some large normals, maybe pastels and some base morph females(fire, enchi, mojave, what ever you like).
You can breed your specific projects (pieds, pastel pieds, clowns, pastel clowns). Then use your 3 gene male queen bee to your big normal females and base morph females when up to size. You can also work your queen bee into those pied and clown projects as well as using your pied and clown males to your other codom females. You could replace clown project with another codom project of your choice if you didn't want to go with a lot of hets...
just my 2 cents..

You touching a male fro under $20-$25k, IF anyone is selling one. Females are closer to 15k

Re: What to get with 10K
Get females that are het pied.
-
Re: What to get with 10K
I would either go with some pied projects (considering they're always popular), and maybe invest in some new morphs? However, if you want a lot of females and males then maybe go for some single morph females, a pied male, and a multiple gene male.

Re: What to get with 10K
Banana males were $50k-60k in 2010 and I think females were around 15k, but some probably sold for 10k... Their prices will probably come down this year, but you never know.
If I was starting out, I would get only morph females. I would get 0 normals. I would pick up as many 2010 morph or combo females as I could now, even trying to find a few 09s. I would then look for a 2011 KillerQueen Bee (if thats where your interest lies) male and maybe a Desert combo male to breed to the females when they are of size. This way your females are already growing when you get your male, and your males will be cheaper since you are waiting for 2011s. If your male gets big enough you might have a couple females that will go for the 2011-2012 breeding season. If not your females and males will be giant for the 2012-2013 breeding season.
If you go the with a 2010 male now and normal females, you might produce a few clutches of Pastels, Bumblebees, Pastel Butters, and if your lucky Pastel Butter Spiders. You will be battling it out to sell these with quite a few others that will be producing them also. If you went the other route, you might not have a few snakes to sell in 2012, but you should produce multiple clutches of multi-gene animals with crazy holdbacks in 2013. At that point you would be much further ahead in the game from your adult female morphs to your even crazier hatchling holdbacks.
