    Sssophie is gone.
Well, frankly I feel I have no one to blame but myself.

Was on an out of town trip for business and also got me a new Spider BP.

I was out for 3 days, when I got back last night, I had to move the new BP to a bigger temporary tub, I was on a separate room for quarantine purpose so I decided not to check on the little one on the reptile are I have till this morning.

When I checked it, the snake was gone...

Since it is in my pateo, it has easy access outdoors. I will continue on searching tonight where he will be more active. Since I live in a compound, I am a lot of real estate to cover. Sadly, there is also access to canals etc.. so there is a chance really that she is gone :-(

My temporary tank for her had a sliding glass door with no lock. I used a paper in between to wedge it locked but someone, I think my nanny and other nannys with my kid and inlaws kids wanted to check her out. The lock was not there this morning anymore :-(

So so so so devastated when I found out... :-(

She was a month old, my first BP, a good eater. Everything that you can ask for from a BP :-(:please::(

I hope you find her! Look nearby the tank first, she might not have gone too far yet.

She very well might be closer then you think. I read somewere that ball pythons will normally only travel and average of 10 feet (correct me if im wrong). I lost my pastel recently and found her on the top shelf of my bookshelf next to her tank. Just make sure to look in all the spots she could possible hide. maybe utilize baby power in key areas. Something i was going to do but didnt end up doing because the same day the guy was supposed to come i found my bp. I posted an ad on craigslist asking for a hunting dog, one that would not hurt my snake if found but could sniff it out. I had a previous shed. So a guy contacted me saying his dog would find it. And that she wouldnt hurt it just point at it. (he was worried my snake would hurt his dog lol) He told me as long as it wasnt in the air conditioning ducts his dog would find it even through walls. so you can maybe give that a shot when your desperate. oh and i offered to pay if it was found. I hope you find her!

Hoping that you are able to find her and bring her back home. but as others have said they usually dont go far. Look for places that seem to small and possibly what would be a warmer area. Best luck to you

(Keep looking in the evenings for at least two weeks. My het pied male got out this winter and holed up for two weeks in a closet before he got bored enough to come out. I had talcum powder traps and water bowls out for him the entire time, including around that closet. He just holed up and didn't budge for 13 days.)

    Still haven't found her.

Well, I will never give up, we will keep on waiting..

I was only able to feed her five times.

Most of them recorder and uploaded here:

I can't believe still, until now.. it's hard to take that she is gone.

I really hope she shows up, like loonunit said, she could hold up somewhere for weeks, and I've heard of some going missing for even longer before finally showing up. Don't think that any place is to small or to out of the way either. Someone on here had one of theirs crawl into an old floppy drive on a computer.

It's more of a wait and see, I really wouldn't mind the surprise even if it would be a year from now...

    Thanks everyone!

It's been a week now and still no Sophie. I also noticed some stray cats in the area.. This could also mean they could easily have gotten to her :( No blood signs on nearby floors though.. I am sure she would've put up a fight...
