A hide in the Tub or not
Hey guys, setting up a new tub today for my new 2 year old adult spider.

Question, Since I am going to a tank setup and not a TUB, do you still need to put a hide in the tub or is the tub already a hide in itself?

    :-)

    hi there
that all depends on how large your tub is .if its to big i would suggest a hide. how many grams is your spider? and what size tub are you going to use?

The rack I just built is using 28qt tubs and they work great.
I do have a 1500 female in there that will be coming out of it next weekend and getting her own enclosure;)
I have hides in all of them but some of my smaller guys are sleeping in top of the hides instead of in them:rofl:

The only time I use hides in the tubs, is when I move a juvenile from the hatchling rack to a 28 or 41 quart tub, and the the snake refuses food. Then I will only keep the hide in the larger tubs for a few months.

Use a 28q tub with no hides.

It looks like you've got it. For my stand alone tubs, I prefer to use 2 hides, but as long as your snake is eating and healthy, it should work the way you have it.

I use 28 qt for my snakes at their current size. I have hides in all of them. The bee and pastel use the hides. The lesser and the cinnamon just hide under the paper. After they switch to larger tubs I won't use hides. Let me note that I do have black contact paper around the whole tub. Only the front is left clear. I think that helps a lot.

    Regards,

    Thanks guys!

I placed a hide anyway, he seems to be comfortable outside. Will leave it there for awhile :-)
