Got this beauty for free from a breeder friend of mine. She's a naughty little snake, very defensive.

Oh,she's beautiful! Are there some IJC that will allow themselves to be held, or are they usually all pretty defensive?

Well usually they tame down with handling but for the first year i wouldn't completely trust it.

Cool looking snake! My cinnamon ball python is just as feisty! I see that strike pose anytime I'm cleaning or watering. Not to uncommon for young snakes in general :) Good luck!

I love me some carpets. I have two with more on the way I hope. My first baby is working on hatching as we speak. Will be fin getting to experience the difference from those fiesty young ones to the sweet heart adults. I spose thats better than the other way around :D

    Nice IJ!
I have one as well. She is a little cage defensive, but that might be because I don't hold her much...but once she's out she's fine.

She's just a jumpy snake regular handling will calm her down I give it about 3 weeks before I take the gloves off and handle her bare handed. Ive already tried that method and have a bunch of holes in my hand.:D

Just after 2 days she starting to calm down she was biting me every time i tried to switch her over to my other hand. She just started to slither around after 10 minutes of handling and check things out, no striking or S'ing up. Just a curious snake, hope this behavior continues to progress as such.

What kind of setup do you have her in? I am thinking about getting one. Looks similar to a bp setup right now, I have seen setups like a bp tub but with a stick in it ... confirm or deny .. :)

My male JCP was insane when I got him. He was lunging at me from across the room, haha. He was just a scared little snake. I left him alone for the first couple of weeks, now he has calmed down (5 months later). I found after I picked him up if I just walked around with him in my hands he would be more interested in the surroundings than me. He is a handful when he is out, not biting or lunging, but he is very curious and likes to move fast :) He is nothing like my Ball who is a couch potato.

Confirm. They are semi-arboreal, so they will spend alot of time hanging out on any branches or shelves offered. Here is a photo of my IJ in his 105 quart tub. The next project that I have planned, after I finish the tank that I'm currently working on, is to remove his branch and install some PVC perches for him, which should be alot easier to clean and disinfect.

Carpet's are definitely curious snakes that's why I like em more than balls, but you can't beat some of the BP morphs.

Can't beat PVC when it comes to cleaning, im buying some of that F10 disinfectant and see how that works, but I have to get updated pictures of this IJ girl she's coloring up.
