    Blood trail after pairing?
Recently I have noticed that every time I put a male in with my pastel female, I wake up to find little trails of blood on the paper substrate. Is this common, or should I be concerned? With my other female I never see these trails which leads me to believe it the girl, not the male

Now don't go getting me all excited inside dr del.... :colbert:

    :D:D:D

I've only witnessed one solid lock between them, and she really has shown no interest in him ever since... I guess it only takes one... I'll keep pairing them until I see the ovy, but thanks for the good news!

blood trails are just assurance that either copulation took place or at the very least hemipenes were exposed. it's a good thing so best of luck!

well if you say hemipenes exposed then would the trails be coming from the male?

Can anyone else confirm that the blood trails come from the male... I am 80% sure that I have witnessed these trails coming from my pastel, which is supposed to be a female. I guess its time to go invest in some probes...which I need to do anyways... but just curious about other experiences. I guess the only other issue would be is that I saw a perfect lock between the 2, and I have seen my lessers hemipenes, would 2 males lock up <question mark> haha sorry the question mark is broken on this keyboard

Yeah, I had a panic attack earlier this season when I found blood trails and drops of blood leaking from my black pastel male's vent. I was afraid he'd hurt his penes... but he seems to be fine, and he's on kept breeding.

And this week there was a small blood trail on the paper from my het to het pairing.

I could have sworn that when the female exposes her scent glands and "tail wags" when the male has entered she can leave trails... do I have this backwards? I just watched one of RDR's vid's he just posted with female tail wagging and her scent glands were really sticking out and she left a trail on her paper in the tub.

Maybe they can both leave a trail?

males will lift another males tail and make it look like a lock.
I haven't ever seen a female lock up a male or even attempt to ;)
