    dang I I got a bum breeder
Well I got they lazy pinstripe male. The little sob won't lock fo r me ( tried 3 different females ) I put the sperm plugs from another snake on the female and all with no luck ) Tossed my butter in with the female after pulling out the pinstripe and with in 15 minutes he locking as hard as he can go, so I guess my wished for a female pinstripe this season will have to be though a trade later .and I will have 3 clutches of butters.

    Heh,

There are a few other tricks you could try before giving up on him. ;)

Misting can help. Putting two females in the enclosure can help.

You could also try putting her into his enclosure rather than the other way round.

    What weight is the pinstripe?

well he about 800+ grams last checked, I know the butter male I got at the same time is more than willing to lock up but the pinstripe with not interested or if he is he waiting till late at night. I am in the middle of switching the tubs from paspen to paper towels ( due to the dust and chances of prolaspe hemipenes) to reduce the dust and mold possible issues. I had both 4thesnakeslady's snakes do theire prel;ay sheds cause she does not have an incubator on hand .
I got 1 more female I could put him with but I doubting he cares (only likes to eat and sleep it seems lol) but I give him a shot with misting on paper towels.

Hmm dr.dels suggestions is pretty much what I would try aswell. I did have some success using a males fresh Shed in with a different pair. My spider was very very lazy this year. Last year he was a stud. This year he barely wanted to lock. But he did a few times. Also if a male is in shed they don't want to do anything during that too.

I've seen males and females take seasons off for whatever reason. Maybe it's just that off year for him. It sucks but next year hopefully he'll be a stud for ya!

I've heard many people complain that male pinstripes aren't great breeders. I haven't tried to breed mine yet, so I don't have personal experience with it, but I know of at least five other people who have complained about how long it took before their males ever bred (years).

Male pins are slow starters not poor breeders. I was lucky to get a male pin do the job. He locked all winter from 200g to 450g and the girl is due to lay eggs this week. Hes now 650g and seems to be done breeding.
