Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?
I keep seeing all these amazing threads with people with their first clutches. I am beginning to feel a little left out!! This is my first year breeding so I am not 100% sure what to expect but I am beginning to wonder what I am doing wrong! Just wondering who else has yet to have their first clutch of the season. Guess I would feel better with a little company! :P

Trying to be patient! It is hard when you see so many awsome eggs! I have 5 girls going (2 pairing since end Nov and 3 since late Jan) and I was just hoping ONE would have gone by now. Hope I didn't "mess up"! lol! Thanks!!

We are still just over a month away from our first eggs of the season, fire X 2 normals.
One has 8 eggs the other has 7 :)

Re: Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?
Thanks all!! I feel a little better!! I would feel MUCH better if I saw an ovy so I know eggs are coming! lol! I was less anxious when I was pregnant with my boys!

Re: Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?
Well let me start at this was going to be first time breeding had a couple of adults females ready but my only male my lesser who is a 2009 ready to breed was one of the laziest snakes I seen put him in with females did not lock up at first and then he did like 3 or 2 times with each female and only like 10 min each. I stoped putting him in now for 3 weeks now he is bigger and may do his job done but all the females that I planned to pair with him had follicles I could feel them since they were small they got bigger and then I believe they reasorbed them. Only good new is that I may still have a chance later on for my male clown to breed a 66% het girl.
-
Re: Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?
I have a tough time palpating and don't want to torture the girls with my repeated tries so I am totally in the dark here. Two have stopped eating but still locking and the others are all eating and locking.

Good luck with you clown and het!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Definately not the only one. I started cooling in nov this year to make sure all the girls were up to good weights. Put me a month behind last year. I've got girls that have ovulated and girls that haven't. 1 is going into a prelay shed If I'm correct. Hopefully fingers crossed!

You're not alone, no eggs laid yet. However, I do have one in ovulation and six that I can definitely feel eggs in. Have you felt follicles or eggs?

I have tried a few times but I mostly feel what I perceive as stomach muscles. A few times I thought I felt "bumps". But I worry about repeated palpating as I don't want to stress them. I have one girl that looked bigger for quite a while but now she looks smaller so I don't know what is going on!! Thanks!

Re: Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?
I'm still waiting as well.
My female just had her pre-ov shed on 3/20. I palpated her today and her follicles are HUGE now. 4 big ones! This is my first season too.. Been pairing since beginning of September.
It's also a dinker project so hopefully something comes out:please:. But if not, having that first clutch hatch will be so exciting!
Good luck to all of you awaiting clutches:gj:.

I'm in the same boat. My females in shed now so hopefully within a month ill have eggs.

Michelle,
I think the weather is screwing everybody up. My buddy is usually done by now and hes still waiting on his first clutch. The winter was long and wet. Things still are looking up over here.

Some are easier than others. While half of their body is hanging of the tub, it helps to use your thumb to press down and flatten them out a little. Eggs should feel obvious and roll on your finger tips. If you cant get them to relax you'll only feel muscle.

At least you're breeding this year, I'm sure it'll turn out alright for you :) It's just killing me seeing everyone able to breed. It will probably be a year or two until I see my first clutch.

Re: Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?
This is our first year of intentionally allowing snake lovings to occur. We have two normal girls with follicles, but no ovulations yet. Still, the incubator is all set up and temps are holding at 88.4 and 99% humidity inside the egg boxes. Think I should bump it up another degree?
-
My first clutch didn't drop till the end of Apr. last season and looks likes it going to be the same this year.
-
Re: Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?
I am waiting on my first clutch of the season to be laid, and it should be any day now.
(Maybe today will be my lucky day.)
So far, I have had 9 ov's that I am aware of, and 4 pre lay sheds.
The females that have taken already are the ones that I was hoping would the most, and the rest are still doing their thing.

Thanks. I think not being 100% confident palpating makes me anxious too. If I felt follicles then at least I would know wwe are on the right track!! Thanks for the tip!

I can only imagine how stressful it is. I'm losing my mind waiting for one of my mini donkeys to go into labor! I've been breeding miniature donkeys for a few years (11-14mo. gestation period -_-), lost one at birth and another 2day old had to be euthanized.. THAT'S stressful, lol but not nearly as much attention is required for donkeys as is for eggs!

Re: Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?
I have two females that are due to lay in 11 days. Its my first year breeding, so its very exciting for me. One was a pastel female x cinnamon male, and a normal female x pastel, yellow belly, and cinnamon. But i thing the cinnamon got the job done. Good luck to every one.:gj:

My girl has been locking since AUGUST... nothing yet, although she seems to be building, she is getting quite lumpy looking and bowl wrapping and doing a little side laying... She shed a week ago... I hope SOON!
-
No eggs! I'm actually worried that my pied is still too small and may be reabsorbing her follicles now, because they don't feel any bigger. But she's continuing to lock with both the black pastel and the het pied, so, okay. I guess we'll keep on trying.
-
I should be getting my 1st clutch in around a month and hopefully 1 or 2 more after that.
-
Re: Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?
No eggs yet either,I should have the 1st clutch in around 10 days with acouple mor a few weeks after that... I started breeding them in November,December.
-
No eggs yet for me either...lots of locks still, some building, and all have had their pre-ovu shed but no ovulations yet...sigh...and the wait continues
-
Re: Who has NOT gotten eggs yet?
Just got my first ovulation today! So hopefully in like 45 day I will have some eggs in the incubator!
