does anyone have some imput?

Re: came home to see this. :D
Not much to say without more info....
Did she already ovulate and shed? If so, good signs for eggs soon.
However, looks more like building behavior, and then there is no real time line unless you know when it started, or until she ovulates and sheds, then you can make a time line of when eggs will happen.
:)
-
well i dont really have much info because i have been very busy lately.
i just know she shed like 2 weeks ago and then yesterday she shed again but this time it was all blotchy and stuff.
and then i came home tonight and saw that.
i had her with males for like a month or two.
-
She's moving her eggs down, I see she has some stuck shed, when was her last shed? If I had to guess, I'd say a week til eggs are laid
-
she completely shed 2 weeks ago and then yesterday she started shedding again and she has the stuck shed on her now.
-
Hmmmmmm, well get the incubator fired up, like I said before, I give her a week to 10 days tops, before she lays.
-
yayyy, im excited. :D lol
okay another question. would there be anything else i can use to incubate them?
-
like instead of an incubator or in place of an actual incubator?
-
Uh.....no, unless you did a DIY project, you need an incubator or something you made inTO an incubator. :p
-
You can make an incubator out of a cheapo Styrofoam cooler, just add some flexwatt, thermostat & an accurite.
-
Re: came home to see this. :D
Good luck with ur female...I just had 2 ovulations today,so about another 45 days to go..
-
I'm not trying to be rude, but how can you pair up your snakes and not think about incubating eggs until she's getting ready to lay? This should all be figured out before you think about breeding; and even if not, regius take months to ovulate after pairing--you could have asked these questions months in advance and you wouldn't have to scramble to get an appropriate incubator setup. Just some food for thought, and some constructive criticism. Anywho, if this is your only clutch, I'd say just buy a Hovabator, plug it into a better thermostat, get the egg box in there with a 1:1 ratio of vermiculite to water, and get it up to the right temps. Good luck, and here's to a healthy hatch of snakes. Keep in mind that you shouldn't wait this long to get appropriate setups for your hatchlings.
Cheers,

Im getting an incubater on wednesday, its just that my boss told me this female can not reproduce, that she never has and never will.
So he told me never to expect eggs, so i wasnt going to get excited or anything.

If you are pairing snakes with the obvious intent of breeding/reproducing them...I would think it's wise to error on the safe side. Either way...I'm glad to hear you are getting an incubator and wish you the best with eggs and babies!
Something else to think about...You may have a bunch of new snakes to house in a month or two.
-
Didn't even think of the space for the babies :O d'oh
Yeah you'll need setups for babies if you get eggs.
-
From the picture it looks like she is trying to find a comfortable position. This could be due to follicle/egg development. If so you could have eggs in 1 to 2 weeks. Normally you want to have your incubator fired up, tested and stabilized 2 weeks prior to you suspected lay date so you want to get a incubator asap.
I converted my incubator from a broken RedBull mini fridge. I'd recommend something similar:http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...ull-Incubator!

Re: came home to see this. :D
Here is another option for an incubator that I built. This was from a $60 used wine cooler I found on craigslist. There are tons of options...I'm sure you'll come up with something.

and what are your guys thoughts about her incubating her own eggs?
not saying that im gonna let her do it but i want the incubator perfect so i might have to wait.
-

-
I have figured at least 4 eggs, as far as maternal incubation goes, it's been done with success
-
Can you get more pics from different angles of the snake?
It looks like she may be just building. Does she lay on the warm or cool side of the tank? Any wrapping around the water bowl?
Does the end of her tail look scrunched up?
Does she lay in a perfect coil?
This is a good website to use for reference:

well every day since ive made this thread shes only been on the hot side and she is always twisting and turning and stuff.
-
So before i went to bed she was moving around constantly, i will put the pictures up tomorrow.
-
She is uncomfortable, and all this weird positions is her moving the eggs down, she will lay soon :)
-
so she's been very restless, moving around all the time, the first three pictures were from last night around 12am. today she has been moving back and forth maybe every 2 hours, cold side to the hot side and back to the cold. right now shes on the hot side but shes moving around. the last picture is from 10 minutes ago.

if you can get the tank to the right conditions you can do it in there but ive heard that its hard to do. Incubators are expensive but i think ive seen 30-50 dollar small ones on ebay or other online websites
-
well i might let her have them for the first 2 weeks then when my incubbators ready i'll take them.
-
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
shes laying her eggs right now!
they seem kinda small to me. what do you guys think?

Just from the pics you've posted, I think you'd need to tweak her set up a bit before I would consider maternal incubation. It looks like you have a basking lamp over her and lamps have a tendency to zap moisture out of the air. The stuck shed and shed fragments in the first pic make me think that humidity is too low for her. The humidity would need to be between 60 and 80% (IMO) in order to promote ideal conditions for the snake - no retained skin and shed skin is intact. Until those conditions are met, I wouldn't consider maternal incubation as a viable option for you.

one egg.
http://i51.tinypic.com/2rfbr10.jpg
two eggs, pushing out the third.
http://i55.tinypic.com/xcq420.jpg
four eggs.
http://i53.tinypic.com/qn0b5s.jpg
the third egg is a slug i can tell by how it looks.
and it looks like she still has one or two eggs in her.
-
they do look kinda small... BUT YAY EGGS!!!!
-
Re: came home to see this. :D
Nice!!!! Thats really cool. Congrats.
-
How's she coming along? Anymore eggs? The third one doesn't look like a slug from the photos.
And yeah they do look a bit small. :(
-
And congrats too! Good luck :D
-
heres how big they are compared to a pen.

heres the eggs with the slug.

Are you going to try maternal incubation? BTW Congrats. Hope they make it
-
no i got an incubator.
7 eggs in total, 1 slug.
-
okay so i weighed the eggs.
they all weighed 599 grams and i candeled them and they all had veins but not alooot.
-
I hope they make it. they are rather small but if they have decent vein structures than you're good. keep us updated!
