That's my understanding too. If both are the normal looking hidden gene/het dilute/platy sibs then the really tough part of that breeding is that apparently even the homozygous version looks normal so all offspring would be 25% chance homozygous/50% chance het/25% chance normal. RDR bred platy X platy and produced a normal looking girl that should have been homozygous hidden. I didn't hear if he eventually bred it to a super lesser to prove that it is the expected homozygous hidden (should produce 100% platy with a super lesser).

Even Ralph says that there is more going on with the hidden genes and he is not fully sure about all its genetics... and this project is more of a shot in the dark for me... I am trying to isolate the hidden gene to breed back into my lessers to get platty daddies... both Hets are het for hidden gene... both my hets and my original lessers are all related (I got them from Ralph) I have been breeding the lessers to unrelated normals to spread my blood lines out... it may take 20 years for me to acheive but thats the great thing with ball python breeding... it's just like christmas every time you slit that egg!! If I didn't love every minute of it, I wouldn't be doing it!

Some of my short term projects include proving out my het pied pair and making some super mojos.

I also have some PH lavender albino females and a DH lavender snow male...I would like to prove out the lavender albino gene as well as the axanthic gene, then eventually hit on the lavender snow...This is my LONG term project.

Then I have a male dinker that I plan to breed to a few girls over the next couple years to try and find out what's going on with him.

I have a bunch of ther projects too, but these are the ones I am the most excited about.
