Ok so it been discussed dome on here today but I have a male mojo and will have 1.1 lessers and will be picking up a female mojo. I have noticed that mojo x mojo = "dirty BEL" and I have seen a couple lesser x lesser that are not all white. Of course our goal is to achieve as white as possible so would we be better off crossing major lesser with both pairs in order to achieve whiter BELs? Or is it just kind of a crap shoot and you get just as many dirties regardless? Thanks guys

I don't think producing as white a snake as possible is everyone's goal with BELs. Personally I really enjoy the subtle patterns and purples of Super Mojaves. There are a lot of ways to make an all white snake--less ways to make a subtly patterned, white and purple snake. To answer your question though, Lesser to Lesser and Lesser to Mojave pairings will produce very white snakes, while Mojave to Mojave pairings tend not to.

    Cheers,

Got pics of the lesser x lesser with that are not all white? I've seen quite a few by now and the worst they get is super faint stripes over their eyes. havn't seen one yellow out or anything like lesser x mojaves or super mojaves can.

lesser x lesser is still your best bet

lesser x lesser butter x butter lesser x butter can make BELs with bug eyes though. I've always seen than lesser/butter x BEL producer= WHITE snake

Look here there is a pic half way along of a lesser x lesser that isn't pure white.

I have seen mojo x mojo that is pure white and lesser x lesser that isn't it seems that there are exceptions to everything.

A TYPICAL lesser x lesser is white but not always and a TYPICAL mojave x mojave is 'dirty' There is no it always works combination it is a matter picking the best odds.

IMHO Mojave X Lesser produces the whites snakes I've laid eyes on..

You could go for a lesser pied == super white snake :)

(Unless of course you want those blue eyes...and only want to work with what you currently have.)

Your best bet is to either create spiders het pied, then breed them out to get spieds, or buy spieds, then breed spied by pied and you will get an absolutely pure white ball python... they wiil however NOT be a blue eyed lucy, they will still have black eyes but these are truly the WHITEST snakes I have ever whitnessed:gj:

I really like the "extra-dirty" super mojaves that have visible pattern on their sides. There's a market for those, just like there's a market for "extra-dirty" ivories... and my husband seems to think the pure white snakes are "creepier" than the white snakes with patterned heads.

But pure white snakes certainly sell well, and people are currently asking slightly more for lesser-mojaves and super lessers than they generally are for super mojaves.

Anyway. I think I'd start by breeding whichever snakes are ready to go first.

Hahaha, my girlfriend says the same thing--that the all white snakes are creepy and look too "fleshy."
