Rodent block?
Where do you purchase 50 pound bags of rodent block from? All I have been able to find around here are 5 pound bags
-
Re: Rodent block?
Try your local feed stores you'll find it in no time.;)
-
Tractor Supply will help you out :)
-
Re: Rodent block?
You also might have to ask to have it special ordered.
-
I thought about tractor supply I checked there website and only saw small bags. Do I just go in and ask if they can have it special ordered?
-
Yeah, definitely go in and ask. Just about every place that gets feed can special order anything. I don't think Kent ships their rat food very far, but if you can get it's a great deal. I'm pretty sure they are just midwest though :(

I've searched high and low on the TSC website and have never found rodent block on there. Am I missing something?

Re: Rodent block?
TSC has Doggy bag brand dog food or hog feed but they rarely carry lab blocks unless you ask for them.

Yeah, that's where I get my Doggy Bag, but I figured if they had actual rodent food for around the same price I might try that instead..but whatever I'll just stick with the Doggy Bag.

i used to get Kent from a place called family farm and home, they always had it in stock. now i found a guy that delivers it to my house and its actually a little cheaper. charges me 15 bucks a bag

Re: Rodent block?
Or, you should find it at your local reptile shows.

If you live anywhere near a exotic pet or reptile store you can probably get it there. They usually breed there own rodents and can get you lab block....I get mine at my local reptile shop for $25 a 50lb bag.

Tractor supply has the hog feed that works very well and when asked will order you some rodent feed. Southern States, another feed store, will also order you Mazuri if you ask as they are a Purina seller.

TSC Hog Feed
This is the one I have seen people using. Its a little low on fat I think but that topic is highly debated in another thread ;) For 11$ per 50# it isnt bad and I mix it with other things.
-
Wouldnt that fall through the top of the rack though?
-
Oops thats the pellet one I linked. There is a block version.

They will order it for you. It's where I got mine when I lived in Roebuck.

Re: Rodent block?
The TSC here wants u to order in a "order" which is 6 bags before they will special order it.
In ohio i goto a place called steves country drive thru..
i know right? WTH? Country drive thur?
Beer, dog food, rat food, hog feed, any feed u need, chips, pop, you name it

My local Tractor Supply isn't able to order Mazuri for me. They are only allowed to have certain Purina items at their location. Personally, the Doggy Bag has worked out great for me.

Yea. Mine can order it if i want 6 bags per order and going to be a regular customer. 1-2 times per month.
I dont use 6-12 50lb bags of food a month LOL
and whats the doggy bag? o.O
I paid 24.55 after taxes per bag of 50lb lab bloc
-
Doggy Bag is dog food. Its made of the same main ingredients as the lab black. Wheat, corn etc. It has no artificial coloring which some people claim is bad for rats. It is also $12.99 for 40 pounds.
