I posted this on a rat forum and wow they attacked me like no other, it was ridiculous. How they attacked me about my username, why i have so many rats and such.

I figured this guy is a double rex. Shows the signs of the fuzz hairless. Wish he was female

Well if you used the same username as you have on here of course you'll get attacked on a rat forum, they're all(mostly) a bunch of snake haters, they're all afraid we're gonna steal their rats and feed them to our snakes. lol. But yeah that rat is interesting looking. I like the curly whiskers he's got. lol.

The curly whiskers is Rex, and he has the curly body hair just very thin. Read about mock hairless which is double rex. I guess i can hold him back or something and see.

    He's double rex for sure.
If you breed him back to his mother (you said she was rex) then you will get more double rexes. :D

Definitely a double rex. They are also sometimes known as 'patchwork'. The really curly whiskers is what gives him a way. I was hoping to have a double rex rat, but he just kept shedding his hair and is totally bald now. His whiskers were sort of curly, but no where near as curly as a rex. I love rexs and hope to find one some day again!

And I had to laugh when you said you joined a rat forum and kept the same screen name! Talk about jumping into the hell fires!

Oh you kill me  I can't remember which forum I was a part of for awhile, but I had put up some pictures of some babies asking what colors they were. Next thing I knew everyone was jumping on me for breeding rats and adding to the problem of overpopulation. I got sick of it and finally said "I've never had a problem with overpopulation and I don't sell/give away any of my rats". That got them really going! Rat people are a headache, if it weren't for them there wouldn't be a problem with rats filling up shelters/foster homes.

That rat forum is bat$hit crazy. Please don't compare all rat owners to the people on that forum. They are horrifying elitists, I'm ashamed that they are the first thing that comes up in a google search for 'rat forum'. :(

    Every person is sane.
    Every person is crazy.
It all depends on who's eyeballs you're looking through.

    Overpopulation issues?!
Give 'em to me! I'll take care of that. ;)

He's a cutie, that's for sure! I love his little curly whiskers, and he really has an adorable face to him. Post pics when he's an adult!

Wait a tic, is that his mum?

Edit: She almost looks like a standard because of her whiskers, but I think I see some curly hair on her.

Deff not a normal rat, Hair is all curly and wavy. Wouldn't product the double rex without him and the mother.

Rich you have perfect timing, I was just about to post a thread like this :) I will post some pics when I get home but mine look almost exactly like yours. Balding men with peach fuzz. Mine came from 2 hairless. Both unproven and from outside sources so I am not exactly sure what I am dealing with but was hoping this would tell me. Thanks for posting yours :)

Here are some vids I took last night while cleaning. Mine are a bit younger than yours, only about 3 weeks old.

    Babies
    Parents

These babies have been a bit of work for me as the mom stopped lactating about a week and a half ago so I have been hand feeding them. They are taking to solids now and starting to put the weight on.

His body has no hair left on it, only his head has thin fuzz on it.
