    My snake
I'm new to the forum so I figured I'd show off my little Mojave. He's my first snake and I love him to death, still not sure if I'm going to breed him though and if I was I wouldn't know what to breed him with lol.

Also I think I need to post once before I can do pictures so pics will be in the next post lol.

    Re: My snake
The pics probably aren't very good, first time using a good camera with him and his first real "mini" photo shoot so he was rather uncooperative.

    Tell me what you think.

    Here he is!:

I'm sorry but that looks like a normal to me. If anybody else thinks it is please assure me. I don't want to be mean, just telling it how it is. If he is a normal, he's absolutely gorgeous!

    Re: My snake
As far as I can tell he seems to have the "Mojave" markings on his face, the lines over his eyes and such. The woman I got him from on another forum was a regular seller and had a good rep with the community so I trust her when she says he's a mojave. :P

This is what a mojave should look like. You are entitled to your own opinion of course, as am I. If you don't mind me asking, who is the breeder?

Her name is Brittany Williams from FaunaClassifieds. She just recently moved to Florida from Washington.

Your mojave just seems to be brighter than my little guy, that's the only difference I see really.

Hmm. Post some pictures of his eyes. His eyes should have a light hue at the top. As for the stripe through the eyes, most ball pythons have those. Normals as well. Your snake doesn't have the "keyhole" pattern like mojaves do. His is banded/reduced.

While he is very handsome, I have to agree with swalters. There is a marked difference between a mojave and a normal.

First, my mojave girl. Second, my normal male. (Sorry, bad pics.)

Welcome! Congratulations on your new snake. He does look like a normal to me also. Very pretty to!

That was my first thought also - that is was a normal but I am by far an expert but I do own a Mojave.

He is a pretty snake just the same. Good luck with him.

Most definitely normal! Very beautiful one, unfortunately no mojave there. I would ask the seller if maybe there was a mixup?

Ugh, yikes. That's definitely not a mojave. Once you are little more experienced with mojaves you can easily pick them out from normals. If that lady told you he was a mojave, you should get your money back.

He is a gorgeous normal though! :gj:

To clear up any wondering on if he is or isn't a mojave, he's ABSOLUTELY not a mojave. He's a nice looking normal. Mojaves are a color AND pattern morph.

A young mojo with a year old mojo
    http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...ed/014-7-1.jpg

And a mojo with a normal. He's a dark reduced normal, but still....
    http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...ed/029-6-1.jpg

Now can you see the difference? Yellows, grays, flames, blushing, and pattern? I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just telling you that if you paid mojave price for him you should be throwing a fit. Looking at the eyes/eye stripes means nothing. Normals have those stripes. The thing to look for in a mojave is color and pattern.

If you still don't believe me

Yes definitely get your money back or ask for a male mojave. I saw some of her ads. She has some crazy and unique mojaves. I'd get a hold of her and maybe show her this thread. I only pointed it out so you wouldn't be upset in the future when you bred and got no mojave morphs! :weirdface

LIke I said in one of my previous posts, a good lookin' normal (:

We're all here to help fellow herpers and to attempt to protect them from scammers. Hopefully you miss heard her/miss read something, and you didn't pay mojave price.

Oh and excuse my rudeness, welcome to the site and the addiction! :gj:

I also looked at some of her ads, she has some fantastic mojaves! I also believe she would know the difference between a normal and mojave. I would talk to her and see if it was just a misunderstanding. Either way you have a very beautiful normal :)

Yeah she seems like a reputable breeder. I'd just talk to her and sort things out (:

Mojave is not a recessive morph, therefore there is no such thing as a het mojave.

Mojaves don't have hets, only recessives have hets. Mojave's are a codom morph, also known as a visual morph. They either are or aren't mojaves.

Cute snake, very pretty! Def. a normal, but I'm sure the seller will be happy to help you figure out a solution. Even the most reputable breeders are human, and perhaps she sent out to the wrong addy? I've also seen ads for morph siblings and people often think siblings are morphs as well. Mojave clutches will have normals in them as well as mojaves, though if the parents are good looking, the babies are often very nice normals!

    Re: My snake
Thanks for all the replies and help, I guess I may have misread something. But I still love him even though he is a normal, he is very pretty. I suppose I'll have to talk to her or something to see if there was a mix up but he was pretty cheap to begin with so it really doesn't really matter to me. I'll be getting more snakes in the future anyway :D

    Thanks for everyone's help!

Looks to be a normal to me as well, but with some nice looking patterns. I would contact her and see what happened. Could be just an honest mistake. Here is a picture of my male and female Mojave.
