Evil Baby Snake
I have a hissy little male het. albino. He eats great, but hisses every time I handle him. Today, I picked him up and as usual he hissed. I'm trying to tame him down so I just ignore it. He sat relaxed in my hand. Did he strike? nope. I wish he had....Instead, he hosed me down! Then crapped all over me! He took my comforter down with him too! I've never seen to much mess come out of a baby snake! I'm starting to think he is somehow related to a blood python! Or was one in a past life!
Anybody else get soiled by their snake?

Re: Evil Baby Snake
Sounds like a stressed little baby. You might give him some quiet time.

 , too funny I have not, my mate has......it still brings a :) to my face

nah never happened to me. thats straight gross and whack

Yup, been dumped on/showered upon by all of my snakes.
I have long hair, and one time I was holding Madison while laying down on my bed.
She peed while snuggled up in my hair, and I had two-three chunks of urates clumped in it.
Needless to say, I dropped her back in the tank and washed myself 5-6 times that day, and 5-6 times that night...
LOL.
:D :D

(it still doesn't smell as bad to me as when my cat goes in the bathroom and pees on my clothes.)

I've had him about a month. I even gave him about 2 weeks to chill. I don't see how he could be stressed. I guess I'll give him more time then.

Re: Evil Baby Snake
Hahahah! Did it stink? I use to get musked by my female Lavender Corn ALL the time... She was so squirmy and HATED being with me. I went through lots of laundry with her. Unfortunately after 4 months, she just didn't settle in so I gave her back to her previouse owner. :( But yes, I have been pooped on by 2 of my Corn Snakes but never my ball.:D

My little het albino male is very tame but last night he peed or let some clear fluid out on me all over my hands
-
Hahahaha! Oh man, my little mojave was just chilling out in my coat sleeve, and I happened to be talking to a friend about all the funny python poop stories I heard. Guess what he did about five seconds after that? :D Can only say that I was laughing my a** off while trying to clean out my coat and put him back into the tub

Yeah, I've had a couple baby snakes that were hissers, a couple that were biters, and a couple that would try to pee on me every chance they got. My rule--for biters and pissers in particular--is that they DO NOT get to go back in the cage right away if they behave badly. They DO NOT get to learn that crapping on my clothes or chewing on my thumb is a way to get what they want. Oh, no--what they get is a nice, lukewarm BATH. And then they get to hang out for another half hour with me while I do my laundry and clean up all the stains.
...but in general, it's a nervous young ball python thing. They don't all do it, but it is pretty common. Handle him a couple times a week for a few minutes each, take appropriate precautions (like checking his butt for "The Bulge" and being ready for him to try to spray you in the first couple minutes), keep feeding him plenty, and let him have lots of privacy on his off days. And have patience--they pretty much all grow out of it in the first year.
(And at least he's not a biter? Biting babies don't stink up your bed, true, but it really does get old after 6 months.) (Actually, I think the hard-core hissers are hysterical--but it does seem to go with the "defensive" peeing pretty often.)

It's hilarious! My pastel girl hisses every time I get her out, but at this point it's almost a greeting noise rather than defensive for all she does about it. Cracks me up
