All I do is add to proper size hides. One on the hot side and one on the cool side. I usually put the water dish in the center. I always use newspaper for bedding. It has always worked for me..:gj:

the whole reason for this is because i have a stressed bp and need to go from a glass tank to a tub

This is how i set up my ball python 28qt tub., i put three hides(one on the cool side and two on the warm) so she would not feel exposed and so there will be less open space. I put my water dish near the cool side because on the warm side it would of evaporated to quickly raising the humidity to high, i spray ounce a week and my humidity stays 56-62% in there. I added the plants and stick to make it look more natural and more tight and secure. I started her off in there around 18" she is now 20-24" and doing good :D!

How big of a bp is this? You need to buy a smaller tub depending on the size of the snake.

With an enclosure similar to mines at that size, she will do great!

For a snake that size, I would say 32 qt-41 qt tub.

i have a few BPs' is it worth buying a rack insted, then insted of buying a 250$ tank every time i get a new Bp? does this sound better?

A 28 is perfectly fine for her. I give my adult males about that sized tubs. The only reason I give my adult females 41 qt tubs is so they can thermoregulate as much as they need to. I don't use any hides except for my babies, but it sounds like you don't have a rack system, just a tub right? In that case I would give her a hide or two and put some fake plants in or crumpled newspaper to fill up the empty space.

Personally the plan I follow is 12qt up to 400-500g, then 28qt up to 1500g, then 41qt for adult breeding size females. When I have some neonates, they'll probably go in 6qts until they sell or reach 150g.

I use the 41qt for my girls and with them I have a hide on the hotside and one of those large plastic dog water dishes on the cold side. All of my snakes squish themselves under the water bowls so it acts as another hide. For the boys I go to 32qt. And they don't have the hide. But don't seem to mind. They still have the same dish so they move that around at will and squish underneath it.
