She's getting closer!

I'm pretty sure this will be my only laying female this season. I'm hoping for an ovulation soon. She's been locking up with my spider male every time I put him in.

And she refused a meal for the first time since breeding began. I've got my fingers crossed. The last time I palpated her I felt 5 good size follicles so I'm hoping for 5 fertile eggs. :please: :D

Good luck! She has a nice 'glow' to her too! I have a female that is in the exact same stages of building (mine has 6 huge follicles). Hope you get your 5 fertile eggs!

Yes, she's been glowing for a couple of weeks now. :)

Checked in on her this afternoon to find her on the hot side. She's been on the cool side for quite a while now so I'm wondering if maybe I missed her ovulation. Could that have been the tail end of it? I threw the male in with her to see if they lock.

my female will rotate between cold side bowl wrapping and hot side, I think it's pretty normal as far as building goes. can't hurt to keep trying to pair.

They just finished a lock this morning so I pulled the male to give him a break (he's dating two girls this season). She is definitely getting closer to ovulation. She just seems miserable and her belly has an obvious pudge to it. I just looked at their breeding card and I wrote down that I witnessed 8 locks since 11/12/10 when I first introduced them. There were at least 2-3 other locks that I didn't write down because I had lost their card. So 10+ locks and this is her today.

And her glow is starting to fade. I feel like she might be going into shed soon. She is still refusing meals. She's refused two so far. I've got my fingers crossed.

It turned out to be an ovulation. She was huge yesterday. So now I wait for the prelay shed. It's been a while since I had a female ovulate. Isn't it around 16 days till pre lay shed and 20-something after that till eggs?

I was told it's about 10-14 days til prelay shed, then about 30 days until she lays after that.
