Pairing question?
Hey guys
looking to prove out my female norm and was wondering if there was a morph out there that when bred to her would give me the easiest chance in identifying what she was?
cheers

Another normal or another "Whatever" you think she is..

What do you think she is? In that question there is your answer :gj:
Or you can breed her to whatever and breed one of her offspring back to here if you think there is something special about her, however don't get your hope too high because usually when you purchase a normal well it's just that, a normal.

There you go than there is your answer best way to prove her out is with an Albino male. :gj:

Yeah ok thanks so would I be looking at 1/16 for a super, is that how i would know? not 100% sure that she came from an albino pairing but thinking about it now, an albino mix with anything should be easy enough to spot the difference?

Not sure what you're asking as far as the super. Albino is a recessive gene, so if your girl is possible het for albino, breeding her to an albino male will produce albino offspring if she is, indeed het. If she's not het and is just a normal, then your breeding her to an albino male will produce offspring that are 50% het for albino. I hope that helps.

if you breed an albino male to a normal female then the offspring are 100% het albino, not 50%.
If the breeder said she was 66% het albino then that means she came from het albino parents. If she is het then breeding her to an albino should pop out around 1/2 albino babies and the rest will be 100% het albino.

And in order to prove her out, you HAVE to breed her with at least a 100% het albino. If you breed her to anything else besides albino it wont tell you anything about the genetics of the female. So if you want to prove her out get an albino. Or if you have the money then an albino mixed with something else.

No super for Albino ;) it's called Homozygous :gj:
If your female is 66% Het Albino she came from Het Albino to Het Albino pairing.
If you decide to prove her out with an Albino you would get the following
100% Het Albinos should she not prove
50% Albinos + 50% Hets should she prove. (The hets would again be 100% Hets)
You could also try to prove her out with a 100% het albino male however the outcomes would not be as good and should she not prove out you would end up with a clutch of 50% hets that should in turn be proved out as well taking years of your time an lots of space.
This should help you understand recessive breeding http://www.ballpython.ca/what_get/recessive.html

Thanks for the correction. I was thinking het to normal. Apologies for the error
