I'm so fed up with the catty baloney!!!

So I thought my boss not scheduling me for the month of January was a bratty teenage girl move, but this is really the cherry on top.

My boss called me early last week or the week before to tell me she got the unemployment claim from me. I swore she told me she was going to contest it and I pretty much blew the lid. I was civil, but I told her it was ridiculous that she took all my hours AND was going to take unemployment from me as well. How am I supposed to pay my bills with no job and no unemployment?!!! I didn't quit, she basically fired me! Then she says "No no no! You didn't hear me right, I'm not contesting, so you will get it!" ......

I call unemployment today to see what the heck is going on because I'm not getting any money. Oh, guess what! She IS contesting it! RRRRRR!!!! So either I heard her right and she's such a pansy that she lied to me after I responded, or I heard her wrong and she just straight up lied to me from the start!!! I was really upset on the phone with unemployment about her lying to me, but the guy was a sweetie and said they would do everything they could to get me the money, but I had to have a hearing first. They will back pay for all this time, but not until I win. :taz:

For those who have different unemployment laws, in Iowa you can receive unemployment benefits if you are cut hours even if you're part time. It was settled that I was going to get 80% of my pay every week, minus the hours I still worked (two days the entire month). I got the debit card and everything set up, then that witch sent in her letter of contest..... :taz::taz::taz::taz:

I'm so angry right now!!!! I'm going for a drive to cool off and get my dang license renewed.... :rage:

Awww Stephanie....that seriously sucks every which way. I'll just pray that you'll soon find a new job with people that both appreciate AND deserve the pleasure of working with you. :hug:

What kind of work do you do or did you do?

A midnight commando raid, dispensing .....ohhhhh say a thousand or so live crickets through the mail slot would be a terrible, terrible thing to happen to the place you no longer work.

I'm sure it would make you very, very sad.

I have no idea. The only stipulation is that I have to be willing and able to work if they have hours for me. She never asked me to work any extra so I didn't turn anything down. She might say that I didn't go to the meeting this month, but they didn't even give me the schedule that has the meeting dates/times on them. When I went to work to pick up my paycheck today they treated me like a total outcast. I haven't been fired, quit, let go, nothing, just left off the schedule. Our paychecks/schedules are in a filing cabinet and my team lead acted like I didn't work there anymore, got in my mailbox and gave me my check. :confused: It's so messed up.

The thing about retribution, or justice as the case here represents, is that is must be done in such a fashion as to be utterly untraceable to any one source.

Time. Time must pass, weeks maybe, a month or two, and then perhaps right before St. Patrick's Day or some other celebratory occasion, by some fluke of the US Postal service hundreds and hundreds of live crickets would be Special Deliveried by Super Secret Midnight Postal Courier and then, for at least several day, many a chirp jerk and shiver would felt by those who done ya wrong.

But that's all just an old man's imaginings and nothing more. We all know that; such an imagination I have...

I don't understand that kind of behavior? As a supervisor/manager/owner, I do not have the time or patience for some one causing me issues (not saying that you are the problem but they see you as a problem) I simply terminate the person or give them more than enough incentive to find employment elsewhere. There is no reason to not act as professionally as possible, although I do flip my lid when an employee lies to me. They are obviously petty and have little professionalism.

I'm so sorry to hear what you're going thru Stephanie.

I called my boss to ask her about this and she said that they must have miss read her letter.....I'm not entirely sure I buy it, but I guess we'll see what happens.

I cannot stand being lied to, I totally understand where you're coming from. The lack of professionalism is outrageous. I've had to stop my supervisor several times when she was gossiping about other employees personal issues/information and say "I'm not comfortable with this conversation". They even gossip with the clients about staff and other clients! I wish they would have just fired me, it would have been a lot simpler to get unemployment!

I spoke with a couple people that are still working there, and their schedules are all messed up and they are getting dropped hours. It seems like they are trying to replace all the long time employees. I don't understand that at all. That place has a really bad turn over rate. The last new hire that stuck around was a gal hired after me, two years ago!

We have something like this happening at our accounting office. (I work in road construction) The girl in your position has two degrees, and she's the only one in the office, about 10 women I've heard, that has a single degree. She's been with the company for 4-5 years, and they just laid her off. My boss said he didn't understand, he wants educated people to work for him so he doesn't have to deal with the morons, lol.

When I first started working for this company, I didn't keep records. After they didn't receive my timecards once or twice, I now keep copies of all my timecards. Makes dealing with those women a whole lot easier!
