Sick for the Fourth day now

I got it good this time. I was fine Friday morning, went to work and put in my 15 minutes like I do every day. :D

Came home and had a small cough. By 11 pm, I was coughing a good bit, but went to bed as usual. By 3 am, I was feeling bad enough to wake up. Stomach hurt like food poisoning, coughing more than not and a head cold so bad I couldn't breathe out of my nose at all. 102.4 fever too.

Long story short, I've slept on and off for about 18-20 hours a day since Saturday. Got up today at 3 pm and have stayed up since (its now 7:44 pm) and I don't feel as bad as I did.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this cold/bug/flu or am I just really special?

BTW, I wouldn't recommend this diet for anyone but I did lose almost 15 pounds since Friday.

No problem with sleeping, so I didn't need the Nyquil. Just smelling food of any sort, made me vomit. It wasn't going to happen the first couple of days. I did eat some chicken broth with crackers today.

Seems like I'm developing a sore throat now. Maybe it's just post nasal drip, but it feels more like a sore throat.

Oh well, what's the old saying...Anything that doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

I am the worlds most aweful sick person, I hope you feel better

I know theres a nasty stomach bug going around this area , my oldest daughter has it right now ... but when my wife had it she said the stomach cramps hurt like labour pains :( Doctor said there was nothing she could do for it and would last a few days :(

a few shots of fortaz usually does me good!

i keep a constant supply of vitamin C pills so if i ever feel something coming or in a situation that could weaken my immune system i take those, hot showers and get plenty warm sleep.

when i first got to germany in 2007 i got sick like that, pretty much the exact same. i didnt eat or drink for about 4 days, slept a lot, poop and puke all day and night, really bad temps. i lost about 20lbs in just a few days.

When I'm sick I usually will just drink hot chicken broth thru out the day and before I go to bed I will have a "Hot Tottie" and I am out:gj: Usually feel fine in 3 to 4 days. If its real bad I will go to the Doc.

Couldn't breathe too well last night and today. Seems like it's going back into my lungs. So, it's off to the doc tomorrow.

I know 3 people with the exact same symptoms you have! (My self included).

Mine has been in my lungs for a few days now, but then every time I get sick it goes to my lungs.

GL... If you feel as crappy as I do then I pity you.

Ugh Jim sorry to hear. Yes we all had this over Christmas and it stunk!!! Not to freak you out but its like we almost got over it....(still had congestion in our chest) but then yesterday it reared its ugly head again and kicked back in. UGH....I finally got a z pack to knock it out and apparently that is how the virus/cold is working. You get it....it goes away....it comes back...you nail it with antibiotics. UGH!!

We found that nyquil at night and day quil in the daytime seemed to help a bit.

Im with lovelace....I am THE WORST sick person. Such a baby...even carrying water up to my room is a feat and I make the hubby do it....lol. Plus I get demanding....lol....last night at 9 pm I told the hubby I need no pulp orange juice with ice. Clearly he had to go to the store immed. LOL THank god my husband is nice enough to do those things for me.

My, my my...what did you do when he was deployed? No pulp orange juice at 9 oclock at night? Didn't want dill pickles too? Oh wait, you're sick, not pregnant.;)

Hope you feel better soon. I've got a doctor's appointment this morning, so I should be on my way to a full recovery in no time at all. YEAH RIGHT!!!

hey watch it ya'll...i AM preggers...& sick. my son got strep throat earlier this month but missed 4 days of school due to fevers BEFORE we finally found out it was strep...we thought it was the flu since the school nurse told us they had a confirmed case of flu in the school that week.
anyways he got some antibiotics and after finishing them we thought he was good as gold again so i shared a plate of pie with him...BIG NO-NO, as i'm finding out now...and we had to pick up our daughter from school the other day for a major sore throat. tuesday night i had my bf take all of us to the doctor (e.r since the offices were closed by the time he got paid and we could get gas to go anywhere) and they did a rapid strep on all of us...came up negative but the doc decided to put us all on antibiotics just in case.
now...the kiddos are feeling good enough to go to school but i'm gonna be miserable for some time. usually my home remedy for a cold is chicken noodle soup, HOT green tea with honey, bolthouse farms c-boost orange juice and echinacea. those last 2 help me get rid of a cold within a week tops but...since i'm preggers now i cant take echinacea so...yeah. but this is not a cold you speak of so...i guess for the flu i just try to stay hydrated as best as i possibly can but usually i end up in the hospital with severe dehydration despite my best efforts.

I know huh!!!! :P Fortunately for me my mom also lives with us so when I am down she is on top of it. Wouldn't go get me OJ at 9pm though :( I think I phsyced myself out so much when he was gone that there was no way I could let myself get sick. I was super woman during that time....lol Now Im all spoiled and mushy....

WOW, living with the mother in law too. This guy is a real keeper. I could never do that. Living with one woman is difficult enough. But I guess living with your own mom isn't all that easy either. Hey, as long as it works, that's all that matters.
