    Suriname girl..
I don't think I ever posted this photo but it's the best one I've been able to get of this little girl. She was in her light phase and stayed that way long enough to get her under the photo lights.

About the only thing I can't capture is how pink she is along her sides.

Anyway, here she is. Has the best temperament also.

Thanks :) She doesnt have many peaks in her saddles but I actually prefer the suri's & guyana's that have a more aberrant pattern. Her color & contrasts is what really got me though.

WOW:O. that contrast is amazing. is that typical for surinames? and you can kinda see her pink on her head, it looks pretty in the picture, i can't imagine what she'd be like in person.

I can see the pink on her head too! It's on the lower half of its head, under the eyes. Super cool :D

It depends who you get them from. I've noticed Vin Russo suri's are much lighter in color than this girl. Jimisnakes has some that I've seen are more colorful like this one.

Problem is, a lot of people are breeding for the lighter, more pale suri's with sharp peaks on every saddle. This means less pink, less contrast between the saddles and diamonds compared to body color, and less peppering. I've been told that this girl looks more like many of the original Suri & Guyana imports, which were more colorful.

She is incredibly pink in person and her tail is a nice burgundy on the edges with the bright red in the center of the tail markings. It's mind blowing when she's in her dark phase though. Her base color turns a dark charcoal throughout while the pink on her face and along her sides gets deeper in color.

I thought about selling her but she has such a great temperament that I take her out often and I'm a little attached to her.

Her tail is amazing. I have heard that keeping BCC are a little tougher than BCIs. Any truth to that?

I haven't had an ounce of trouble from this girl. She has never showed any sign of sickness, eats well, sheds perfect. She seems to grow incredibly slowly. She has a good temperament. I'm sure she will be a handful later on but if she stays the way she is now I'll be happy lol.

Michelle, it's an iPhone lol. They take decent photos but everything still yellows out if your not under daylight bulbs.

Eddie, yes her contrast is amazing. In the last 2 pics she was going dark and you can see the charcoal color of her head and how bright the pink gets. Her color changes are the most intense I've ever seen. Like a gecko.

She was born in late 08' so barely over 2 years old. I can't believe how slow she's growing but I had her out yesterday and decided to cut her back to feeding every 10 days or so because she is getting thicker much faster than longer.

I could see this one becoming a fat boa if I'm not careful about slow-growing her. Considering how large BCC can get anyway, I certainly do not want her growing like she has been the last few months and just getting fat.

That pink gets incredibly deep and bright. I just love it!

    Thanks for the compliments :)

You would think so when you hear 2 years but she is quite thick for her length. I'm slow growing her but she still gets fed weekly and always has. In the second photo of her where she is on a white background you can see how thick her tail is. She is also quite "tall", as in her rectangular body shape is quite high. If she was any thinker for her length than she is now, she would look too fat. She's going through another fast growth spurt now but soon I plan to cut her weekly feeding back to 10 days.

Boas really are not a snake you want to get huge fast. This has been proven to shorten life spans and cause small litters if they breed. Believe me. This girl is not thin or small in any way. She's very thick and muscular.. For her length.

O i know all about the boas thats only what i use to breed, i'm assuming its prolly just the way i'm looking at the photo the only "large" bci i had that produced well was a 9ft always gave me atleast 15 babies a season never bred bcc tho been around alot of them just never bred them suri"s have great colors nice and bold and i'm sure there are alot more morphs out there now...i'm just getting back into reptiles again after 5 years ever been on clay english site??

I need to get a couple photos of her stretched out and side views. The top view doesn't show much in the way of body size. The one where I'm holding her is bad too because she wrapped her body completely around my hand. She just shed yesterday and got a meal. In the next few days I'll see if I can get any better photos of her.
