    Red underside after shed
I just saw the recent post about the red underside, and responded that the ball was about to go in shed. Well my baby ball (3 months) just shed. I picked him up and noticed. A pink/redish shade on his belly. Not sure what this is, never noticed this in my 1 1/2 year old female pastel. Both balls are pastels, just an fyi. Does anyone know what this is?

    Any advice is appreciated.

Is there anyway he could get burns from an UTH, etc.?

Keep in mind he's a baby, possibly the runt of the clutch.

Yeah I was beginning to think that this shade of pink maybe due to that fact he is only a baby. But are there anymore thoughts?

    Hi,

I'd say you were probably right - there are no signs of damage that I can see in those pictures.

Just keep an eye on it would be my advice. :)

Yeah thats what I'm thinking, just that the ball is young and eventually the skin/scales will grow to be thicker. I guess we'll see and I'll keep an eye on it for the time being. He's eating fine though, right after he shed i fed him.

The last time my snake shed, it was a surprise attack. He wasn't pink in the belly at all, but he shed anyway. Afterward, there was some pinkness for a day or so, then that cleared up and he was fine :). I've noticed that BP's like to take what we know about them and mix it up. I know they do it just to mess with us. If you have multiple snakes, they probably conspire together..

Is the UTH controlled by a thermostat so even if the snake goes to the UTH it isn't an issue?
    *had to ask :P*

I do have the UTH controlled, but i dont think that is the issue. Everytime i check the snake (cleaning, feeding, etc.), hes always on cold side hide. The uth is reading between 85-88 with the probe directly on the UTH.

Well that's what the ambient temperature should be, I keep the UTH 90-93 degrees, maybe that's why he's not using the hot spot?
