What to breed to a Lesser Platinum
I'm getting a Lesser Platinum male next week and now my boyfriend is interested in getting a ball :P We'd like to start breeding them in a couple of years (don't want to start anytime soon, I want to make sure I fully understand BP's first). So my question is, what would be a good female to get? I know another lesser or butter will make a BEL, what other combos could we get?

I'd get a pinstripe, or a pastel pinstripe. King pins (lesser pin) or pastel king pins are stunners!

A lesser can be breed with so many things and you get cool results. I really like the lesser + woma crosses my self. you may wish to check out this link and see if there is some cross that you like. http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/

    Hi,

I'd have to say my faves so far ( aside from BEL's ) would be clown or black pastel or spinner. :wuv: :worship:

They just float my boat the most in combo with the lesser gene.

All of the above suggestions are great.

I personally want to work super pastel into every single combo I produce in the years to come, so I'd vote pastel or a pastel combo.

for a reasonably cheap pairing - bumblebee female?

you have a 1:8 chance of:

    normal
    pastel
    spider
    bee
    lesser
    pastellesser
    lesserbee
    queenbee

I'm personally a sucker for BEL's, but this would be my second choice! You really can't go wrong with the Lesser gene!

I would say a bumblebee or lemonblast..... If you want bel's keep holdback offspring and but it back to dad.. but with a collection of 2 snakes think diversity, and reguardless of what you buy work towards something that you like

There are hundreds of morphs you can make! Jusy find one that you like. Do you like dark snakes? Light snakes? colorfull snakes? less pattern? real busy pattern? no pattern? Do you mind a few more years in a project and work with resesive genes? Do you want quick results and go dom / co-dom genes? Do you want a certain morph and just go 1gene x 1 gene?? do you want a the possability of every clutch being a suprise and go 1 gene x 2-3 genes??

Alot to think about just on the side of what do you want to have and breed.

Hi Nicole, I really hope you have a fat bank account after hearing all this, but I would suggest you to take things slow and plan carefully. If you want to make BEL then stick to your goal, do things one at a time. Have fun and good luck!

I had the same question a couple of years ago... So this year I have witnessed locks a spinner and pastel. My lesser female isn't big enough yet. This hobby is addicting! Good luck with your choices. Scuba

Thanks everyone for all the feedback! It amazes me how many different morphs you can get! I'm definitely going to start my collection out slow and go from there. I think I've gotten myself into a very addicting hobby and haven't even got my first yet! He should be here this week, fingers crossed the weather is good. I may have to upgrade to a bigger house ;)
