Question for All: What is the meaning of your Username?

Okay folks, I've always used my name as a username for all of my forum subscriptions, however, I know others do not. Some of you have very unique usernames.

My question is, why did you choose your username and do you use that username for all of your forum subscriptions?

I have the same screen name for almost every thing. The meaning of mine is what my mother used to say to me all the time, because everything she thought I did was BS. Owning all my snakes, rats, etc., it was all BS to her, but now she likes them. So basically, the screen name I have is BS and my name, Ashley, just abbreviated. So, it's bsash.

This is the user name I have been using since I first got internet back in 6th grade, back when we called them "handles" lol. never saw a need to change it. OhWhatALoser and OhhWhatALoser were taken on AIM so it became OhhWatALoser.

I picked it because my mom put me in a privet catholic grade school and basically the cliques were divided rich "preppy" and middle class "losers." well i prided myself on being a "loser" and not like the snobs. :D I have nothing against higher class people, just the people I went to school with were stereotypical rich snobs. So I let the world know I am and will always be a "loser" lol

I use it for all my internet activities. Always the same.

i just use jefrow cuz it is never taken lol and i use it on everything.

when i was younger, i made noise (like most kids), and this one particular noise "hewlaawwwh!!" and it was funny to me so i decided to write it out "hooblah" and use it as screen names =]. i have it as my license plate, my xbox live gamertag, and my username here :D

hooblah is almost always taken so i just take "h00blah" :gj:

This is my username on most forums and IM. :) It's the name of my main D&D character that I'm quite attached to. My avatar, which I also use with this name on most sites, is a hint to part of her race...hence her name. :D

Most people think it has to do with Boa constrictors but in reality it has nothing to do with them at all.

My user name is from the Bible. In the New Testament Boanerges is a surname applied by Jesus to the two sons of Zebedee, James and John, in Mark 3:17. Possibly because of their fervid and impetuous temper.

I wanted a Biblical user name and I struggle with my temper/anger also so I picked this name. I use it on all the forums I am a member of.

Well currently my name is just that - my name. However, it used to be lexxielightning because lexxie is my nickname with my friends and I'm what's considered a lightning element, if you believe in such things as I do.

umm well a hell of alot less interesting then the rest of you guys but i got mine from my favorite character from the videogame "EA Skate"

Long story short, it was a nickname given to me by a homeless guy during a high school band trip to D.C.

Apparently a compliment, after I bought him some food from a nearby vendor, he said "Hey thank you so much, you're the MAIN butter!"

It's been my username on all forums for about 8 years now.

If i remember correctly a gay friend of mine gave me the nickname in high school (I'm straight)
I think he had just broken up with his boyfriend so i was flirting with him to make him feel better and he said something like "oh your just a little Dirty Birdie aren't you?"
Been that ever since now its just either Dirty Byrdie,Byrdie,or Byrd even my mother calls me Byrdie lol well "her little Byrdie"

Well mine is simple.My name is joe and i like pythons lol.I use it every where :cool:

I am a kiter, power kites. I use a buggy aka parakart. For a while I was ranked 6 in Canada for ground speed (no longer I dropped a bunch of spots) and the other kite guys (kitesurfers mostly) used to say I went like a demon.

A while ago I was making a gmail account and I wanted to use something close to my name(Zack Hulihan). I liked how HulihZack flowed so I went with it, and yes I use that name on all forums.

and no, this is the only forum/internet area that I use this name.

My family is composed of many fisherman and sailors, and I've just loved pretending to be a pirate since I was a kid, so I like to use names with pirate in it xD the word itself is generally taken. To make it unique enough to use I just randomly opened a dictionary with my eyes closed and pointed, and there was valentine. Pirate Valentine just sounded silly after a while (I think it's stuck as my gamer tag though), so I switched them around. I now generally use that username with most of my reptile websites.

Most of my screen name for stuff is Shorty....but, it was taken so I added 54. I'm 5'4" and that is SHORT for a guy! LOL!

My 2 of my 3 snakes are named "Bella" and "Bob". So I just put them together

my full name is Alexander powers Peterson and everyone calls me xan. hence, xan powers :) I use this ID on xbox live and a few other sites.

BPelizabeth....my first Ball Python is named Elizabeth. I know I know ...not very creative but at the time I was a noob looking for answers and had no intention of ending up with so many reptiles..:rolleyes: The best is when ppl really think your name is Elizabeth even though my sig has my name on it..!!:P

my name Anthony Hunt and 37 was my number in football for high school and i figure 3 is my lucky number and 7 is always lucky so there u go

My real name is Juan Benitez but all my family and friends call me "J" so I just shortened my name to jben, I use it on other forums as well. I used to use "brindlepit" on other forums years ago because of a female brindle pit bull who used to own me, but I stopped using it when I had to surrender her, she was the best dog ever.:(

It was the first thing i thought of when i was making an account on here. I wanted it to do with ball pythons and that sounded decent at the time. And no i dont use it on any other site

I love office space and so I am swingline. My bp is Milton! I use different user names depending on the type of forum.

Well my favorite television show is Eastbound and Down and if you've ever seen the show you know the main character is Kenny Powers(if you've never seen it, I'd recommend you see atleast one episode). I also happen to love pythons, and one day I was trying to think up a username for all my snake related stuff and I saw a poster on my wall of kenny Powers and liked the way Powers Pythons rolled off the tongue... So there it is..PowersPythons.

I also have that username on faunaclassifieds and youtube.(I wanted to change my xbox live gamertag to it but apparantly that costs money, which I'd rather save for more snakes!) :)

Great thread BTW Its interesting to see where these names I look at daily come from! I had a pretty big obsession with Rhacodactylus geckos for about 8 years (Now I've moved to BP's)so instead of a "crack"head I just refered to myself as a Rhachead!

On a side note Loser it was cool to see where yours came from. Michelle I really thought your name was Elizabeth(despite the sig) and Boanerges I like the biblical route of your username.

I have been using the same username since the dinosaurs roamed the earth....Well, not quite that long. "Ironhead" is the nickname for two of my favorite athletes, both deceased, Craig William "Ironhead" Heyward and the man with many nicknames, Dale "Ironhead" Earnhardt Sr.

When I was younger, (Maybe 10, 11?) I was looking for a username to use on a new roleplay game.. This was really the first thing I ever did on the internet that required a name. I just went online and searched.. I went to one of those generators and put in "angelic wolf" and one of the names came up as Sarin.

I found out later that it is also a type of toxic gas.

Anyway, years later I use the name Sarin for absolutely everything. I always thought about maybe just going with my real name but it just stuck. What can I say. :)

I came up with my user name when I first got invited to try Gmail beta (back when you could only get a gmail account by invitation.) I was REALLY heavily into tattoos and piercings at the time, with 8 tattoos and 10 piercings... Ink for tattoos, n Steel for the piercings... I've since added tattoos (14 or 15 now) and removed piercings (down to 3 now) but everyone I know has my email address so it was just as easy to use on the forms.

I also use RageKage as my name on a couple. That one came from my initials (KJ) and my friends who are (or were at the time) huge Tenacious D fans.

Nickname I developed in high school between a lot of my friends...I was really fiesty and a jerk to anyone who I didn't know until I got to know them a lot better. So naturally, "The Hedgehog" fit. A lot of my friends call me "Hedgey" or even sometimes "Taz". I like Hedgey though.

Fenrir is a giant wolf from Norse mythology. And wolves are my favorite animals, so instead of having to have some username like "wolf1234" or something, I got creative. c:

my photography website is cinderbird.com, when i joined here I wanted everything to be under the same name. Cinderbird is a chickadee (my favorite kind of bird).

I've got various kinds of usernames on different sites.

My original username here was fourwinds (as well as my website), but i recieved a cease and desist letter from a fellow college graduate of mine for "using his name" (which he forgot to renew....) so I asked the Admins to change my name to the current one when i changed my website.

I hate it when people abbreviate it to "cin" though. Just spell cinder, or call me Sam.

I suck with usernames so i just use my nickname (Mike, short for Michael) and the first initial of my last name

I was (am) a big Futurama fan, and if you`ve seen the show you probably know who it is.
And for those who havent seen it, he`s a alien news anchor with a giant green head.
I`ve used it for around 8 years and i use it for almost everything.

its the title of one of my friends song and albums. i created a s/n the day i first heard it and had it stuck in my head. ive used it for everything since. its actually ILLSUBLUMINAL but on his album cover its wrote out 771:SUBLIMINAL with ILL upside down so i copied it.

Being a biker I used to use Eazy_Ryder, after one of my favorite movies. Once I started customizing my bike, it started with a rattlesnake kickstand, then foot pegs, gas cap, and license plate. Now, even my SUV is Vypyrz-1... :D

On the gun forums that I participate on, I use Fire_4_Effect...

Short Stack is a nickname my boyfriend gave me. I'm only 5'3 and he has this crazy idea that compared to him(6ft/6'1ish), I'm short, lol. But, it's cute and different so I've started using it. It's also my username on another forum.
