Help me pick my first 3 females
Going to a show this weekend to pick up my first 3 female "Morphs". I would love to hear some opions on what 3 breeds/morphs you all would recommend. They will most likely be around 150-250G each so yes still very young.

I am taking $1200 with me so you can base it off that:gj:

Knowing what you already have would be helpful in making that decision..Also with that much money you could buy a lot more than 3 snakes, but with that being said a few base morphs that i think can never go wrong are the pinstripe, lesser, spider, mojave, and yellow belly. If you're going for combos tho, I would say pastel yellowbelly, BEL(mojavexlesser), and a spinner.

    Well,

It depends on what projects you want to work on. I would say at least grab one male and a Adult Female Normal. You can get the male ready to breed in 6months at least. If you do this you can at least have one pair that can probably breed this year.

Pastel,Yellowbelly,Pinstripe,Mojave,Lesser,Butter,Enchi,Fire and the list goes on!

I think you can do a lot better with that amount of money by checking out Garrick Demeyer at royal constrictors. He charge $50 for shipping no matter how many snakes you order and he have breeding groups on sale!

I'd definitely get into some recessives. Breeder recessive females are worth their weight in gold. Of course you can only get 1-3 when with Doms & Co-Doms you can probably get 4-5 animals depending on what you choose...But, I believe in quality over quanity.

Of course in the end it's whatever YOU want. Good luck, and don't forget to take lots of pictures!!

I'm thinking Super Pastel, Lesser and maybe a Spider or Pinstripe. $1,200.00 should cover that at a show.

I'd go with a list: super pastel, enchi, butter, vanilla, fire. When you go to the show, only buy one off the list if it is an amazing example of that morph. Study up on the morphs so you know what you like and have an idea of the price range. Don't get the cheapest one, get the best one. Be prepared to come home with zero or more animals.

Pick watever morphs catch ur eye and are in ur price range if i were u and u dont have anything then u might want to get some males too some cheap male pastels or spiders or something like that then 2 or 3 big female morphs

My picks if i had a clean slate and $1200 would be this
    1.0 Pastel
    0.1 Spider
    0.1 Mojo
    1.0 Lesser
and i know breeders sometimes have buckets o' normals at the shows they get rid of for cheap or even give away when u purchase one snake so i would try to pick up as many females as possible to up ur production

but thats just me like i said u buy wat catches ur eyes

I would get a female super pastel, female fire, and female lesser. when they get close to breeding size, pickup a male killerbee.

Excellent:gj: Lots of votes for pretty much the same ones I was thinking. I would like to find a gorgeous female Mojave and later breed her with a Phantom Male:O
I will definitely post pics, plus I will also show you the enclosure I designed and built:cool:

I'll go for a super pastel, enchi and lesser or mojo (since you have the phantom on your mind). Now this makes me wanna have a super pastel female for myself. LOL Good luck on your pick ups :)

^This...I changed it up a little, but this has been the best advice given on this thread

If you have a Phantom on your mind and don't want to make white snakes get a Mojave female...nice ones are available and affordable. Also I would get a Pastel Yellowbelly and either a super pastel, enchi or pewter female...With the PYB and pewter you'd be stretching your cash a little bit thin, but honestly, if you don't see something that absolutely presses your buttons, then don't buy it. Wait until you see something at a later show or on an online ad and grab it then...basically don't buy any snake just because you're there and have the cash to do so.

Great advice:gj: I've actually been to this show twice and they have alot of real nice BP's. I was just not ready to buy at that time. Hopefully I will see some great morphs and come home with a few.

If i was to start off again I would get a Enchi male, Pastel female, Spider female
and a Enchi female you should be able to cover these animals with 1200 at the shows. The reason I would get a enchi male is because everyone is going nuts with the enchi gene all the combos are looking amazing and with this set up you should have a strong breeding group.Good luck

I don't see why he'd want to buy a male right now, especially if he's setting up for a breeding program. An enchi female would be a good buy, but they're at a premium right now. But you're still looking at at least 18-24 months until the females are ready to breed so why not jus get them now and wait on the male.

Re: Help me pick my first 3 females
That is true but it would be good to have a male at first whos to say he wont want to purchase a couple normal females around the time his male is ready in size.He can produce something while hes waiting for his females to get to breeding size.Normal adult females are relatively cheap so its something to look forward to before his breeding program takes off.
