Name suggestoins for my new BP
I recently just got my first Ball Python which I have waited years and years to get. I couldn't be happier with my new lovie. However, I am, having extreme difficulty naming it for a couple of reasons. One being I am quite picky and I don't like anything cliche. Two, I don't know the sex.

Can anyone offer me some non gender specific names that are unique? I was really leaning towards Belle Morte which means Beautiful Death in French but if my snake is a boy that just doesn't sound quite right. LOL

I appreciate any and all suggestions! Thanks!

I'm not usually cliche in names, but I figure that gender and animal coloring/markings etc. has alot to do with naming your snake. I suggest you find a local reputable reptile store and see if they can sex your snake for you. That way, you have an idea what sex your snake is. Also, if you post a pic of it, we all can help you. :D

I've tried to post a pic and I get an error message stating that I am not permitted to do so. Don't know what I'm doing wrong as I am usually fairly computer savy. I'll try again....

Both or our snakes are named from Greek mythology, Hera is our BP and Zeus is our new little corn snake. Do you have certain areas you like to pull names from, such as mythology, movies, books anything of that sort?

    Very pretty BP btw:D

I've often referenced Mythology for names. I think I'm having such a hard time because I waited for so long to get my BP that I just want the name to be perfect. I have considered Loki, Belle Morte, Nyx, etc. I get hung up on not knowing the gender. I'm hoping its a female as they tend to run slightly larger but either way I'll be happy. I plan on taking the snake in and having it sexed the next time I am able to make it to the reptile show but I don't know when that will be.

Bel Morte has been one of my faves so far. I like the meaning, Beautiful death. I think that is quite fitting. However, it just doesn't quite roll off the tongue right when I say it to the snake. I'm difficult, I know. LOL

Hmm I would say take a look at the site that Jefrow linked and take a look around. I found a few that I like but you may not feel the same.

    Thank you! :D

Sorcha is Gaelic. It means bright, radiant. There are a few different ways to spell and or pronounce. I say it with an sh sound.... It's also be a variation of Saoirse, another Gaelic name...
