He is NOT an axanthic bee. The only accusations when I first posted him were that the pic was fake. When he first "changed" he was axanthicish looking and a light gray. Now he has darkened up some and looks light black lol.

Is this the guy who lost his color or has he always been like this. For some reason I was thinking a female spider had lost all her pigment....this is probably totally different. Whatever is going on with that boy he's awesome!

He lost his color at about 300 grams or so. He started out as a smoking regular bee. Not expecting anything wierd out of him but I love him because he looks so unique.

I started a post a little while back about my 2 babies that have changed colors, 1 of them did exactly as yours and it's been 6 months with no change back.. My Larger Girl has been breeding Great but she didn't do the same change, she turned a Yellow color with alot more Blck Flaking.. Someone suggested she might be an IMG so Illoked it up and Found Ralph Davis's Dirty Joe, shes an exact copy.. Nothing's been proven though, mostly due to the fact that the Babies are all born normal and don't change colors until they start to reach Maturity..

when the IMG starts to go away he'll be black. my pinstripe female had a couple IMG spots and a year later they are pretty much black spots.

That might explain why he is so dark now then. He is almost black but as you can see his spider pattern still shows up. Will be interesting to see how he ends up

Interesting. Mine is starting to darken up quite a bit. I'll have to keep an eye out for your posts to compare.
