Re: UTH + ReptiCarpet = ?
hm well, i've been told that any tape at all in the cage is a big no-no. repticarpet really sucks for humidity though...you cant spray it like you can with cypress mulch.
Re: UTH + ReptiCarpet = ?
right. i was just saying... there's no exposed cords the snake can get tangled up in right?
Re: UTH + ReptiCarpet = ?
just see how your current set up works out...
but how are you maintaining humidity? just curious...
Re: UTH + ReptiCarpet = ?
Using hot glue to secure the probe would be fine. If you can't keep humidity up, you could always try cypress mulch. The repticarpet is just going to get all nasty and stinky when your snake defecates and urinates which will make it a breeding ground for bacteria. I would lose the carpet.
Re: UTH + ReptiCarpet = ?
ew...nobody told me about the chemicals issue with mulch...i got mine at lowes...i think. i didnt notice anything on it that said it was treated with anything so...maybe i got lucky.
Re: UTH + ReptiCarpet = ?
nope i got it at home depot...shoot! well i just contacted the company and asked if they use chemicals in the kind of mulch i bought, so i should hopefully be hearing back from them soon...
hopefully they tell me everything is good with their product.
Re: UTH + ReptiCarpet = ?
mitsumike - i read some of your "reviews" on your cypress mulch experience...with the big chunks. i just take those out. so far, so good.
granted i havent tried anything else so i have no experience with anything else but it looks like this is working out for me. hope it works for you in the future too when you do decide to go back to it.
