Im not shocked it got that far. the head is always smaller. I dont see how it can get past the mid section... I can see getting it 1/3 in... idk how it will fit the rest.....

I do think that meal is big for this BP. Can he handle it ? Possibly. But why risk it...

Its not like he is in the wild and has to take advantage of any meal that may come along because it may be the last one for a long while.

That said, the BP's I used to have could take xlg rats without a problem. Well, the females anyway. One of them (4500 gr. female) took jumbo rats like candy ;)

think about the fur though to, just my 2 sense. could be more visual startling. maybe the weight of the rabbit isnt as shocking.

Exactly why would you even risk that. There's not really a point unless they wanted to see if it can take a rabbit. Which is not smart in my opinion

well idk i've seen some pretty small rabbits... newborns and stuff.. most are smaller than large rats...

    might be fun to watch.

Really depends on how big the snake is. It doesn't look like a 3000+ gram snake but it might be.
The rabbit could be a dwarf species and at less than 6 months old won't break 1 kg maybe less. At around 3 months old my room mates gf rabbit was only 300-400 grams. A 2000+ gram BP can take that down. Now will it not eat for the next few weeks? Most likely and it will look like it just got stuffed but I can see this as VERY plausible.

You'd be surprised what some snakes can eat.

Re: Does anyone find this a bit big?
I think that the picture is very visually deceptive, mostly because little bunny rabbits are always covered in a large layer of poofy fur. and having hunted rabbits before and seen what they look like without the fur(about 1/2 the size they look like with the fur..), I'm sure a fully grown 2500-3000+ gram BP could take down a small rabbit without any issues.

Yeah, I don't think this is anything to worry about. The owner probably doesn't do it all the time either. It would cost to much. It was probably a leftover that some other larger snake didn't take.

I'm sure it ate it just fine and probably won't be hungry for quite a while.

its seems to short to handle that but that is also a look alike to a lionmane bunny more fur then anything else. If it dies on him we know why lol.
