Up close and personal with a tiger at work

I don't normally take many photos at work but for the past week this 7 month old Amur tiger cub "Yuri" has been hanging out next to my reptile room. The chute between some of the indoor cat areas and the outdoor yards runs just in front of the reptile area so I have to walk over the chute to get to my stuff. He's in there getting used to his shipping crate so he can be sent to the Bronx Zoo in early '11.

He's cool and all but I wouldn't want to be in there with him...he's big for only being 7 months old!

Well, my main job is that I'm a middle school science teacher but to help pay the bills I kept my job at the zoo on the weekends and some evenings.

Two types of animals....although I think some of the ones at the zoo listen better sometimes.

Tigers are the my personal favorite animals. I really hope I can go over and see one in the wild. Especially the Siberian.

Oh my gosh that's awesome!!!! I hope they learn how to make a mini nonkilling tiger someday!!! :D They are so beautiful and majestic! Working at a zoo would be amazing!
