Whoa whoa calm down, your snakes are NOT going to die. Heck most species can go months without food. Just get some adult rats from local pet stores and start your breeding again.

Also you need to post in the For Sale/Adoptions area if you need help buying rats.

What is the situation and why do you think your snakes are going to die?

Ball pythons can go at least 8 weeks without food with no real damage.

You should just put an ad on Craigslist. "Rats Wanted" and I'm sure you will get some responses.

How did she "let" them die, the title says they killed each other?
    27 rats killed each other?

Is this the same situation that you were trying to put ANOTHER snake into? Your sister was going to keep it for you?

I know we live in a microwave-fast-food-instant sort of society, where kids have grown up believing anything they want they should be able to get.....but seriously, the mature thing to do is to WAIT until you are grown up and fully independent and capable of caring for your own animals in your own space BEFORE taking on the commitment to care for another living creature.

I know you won't want to hear this...but I would strongly recommend that you sell your snakes and any other animals in your care that you are not CURRENTLY able to house and care for properly. It IS possible to get through life waiting a few years until we are truly READY to make the kind of commitment it takes to be a responsible pet owner. If nothing else, it should be a really great motivator to get your life together....finish school....work toward a good, steady job....learn how to take care of yourself as an adult. Then you'll truly have the freedom to not only buy the animals you want, but fully enjoy the caring of them.

Couldn't agree more - and now you just lost two baby ball pythons in your sister's care and picked up a new ball python and a RTB with a RI.

SLOW DOWN!!! You are moving way to fast, and you're not capable right now of providing the proper care to your animals.

27 rats dying is NOT normal, and your animals are clearly in danger in your sister's care.

Why are you still adding new ones to this situation?

my snakes have been moved outta there for the moment. ivy has finally gotten over the RI and is doing great and i say she let them die cuz she never fed them while i was snowed in at my house and they starved and ate eachother, therefore they did kill each other.

Not five minutes ago - you just said you were keeping your animals at your sisters - including the new one.

Hon, seriously - you're doing a dis-service to these animals. Your mom doesn't want them in her home, and your sister clearly doesn't want them in hers, otherwise she wouldn't let them starve to death.

So where are you keeping all these animals and how are you quarantining new animals?

I PROMISE you - there will still be ball pythons and RTB's available for you when you are an adult and in your own home.

Right now, you're having far too many tragedies with your current situation, and just based on what you've shared with us - you're acting impulsively by adding new animals.

That RTB recovered very quickly from the RI - what did they treat it with?

    k. i was saying my snake were at her place but most were moved to my bf's place for a while lastnight. the 3 i kept with me now r in my sisters house but she is not allowed to touch them anymore, she has to deal with hers. after what happened my mom is taking me into town twice a week to care for my 3. so we cut the group down a bit so it is a lil more manageable. and we used reptaid for ivy. i have been up for 3 days straightening things out and reoranizeing thing for my snakes. so now thing r kinda getting a lil better but my snakes need feed really bad.

I dont think you are getting the point? You are having problems keeping your snakes NOW. When you have your own place you will then have rent, utilities, food, and many other bills to pay. You will need to work your butt off, I am sure you will not find one job to keep up those expenses but maybe two would. Now you have even less time to spend with your snakes and rat breeding. They will get pushed even further to to back of your mind as REAL LIFE will overwhelm you.
Wife an I bought our house when we were 18 and I had to let go of my first APBT because I knew I was not going to be able to take care of him the way he needed. It broke my heart but it was what was best for him at the time. The 2 of us worked and I spent all of my off time working on the side for whatever monies I could make. See, our two jobs covered everything except groceries. We were lucky that my grandparents watched our son for us for free.
