Everyone has different opinions on how to keep there animals. I keep them like I keep all my other snakes in visions or animal plastics. But I do believe they need access to a soaking tub at all times. And some people disagree but I think that has alot to do with how much more work it is to clean and refill a giant rubbermaid tub everyday lol.

i agree! the only time i ever see them is at reptillia a reptile zoo here in toronto and they have GIANT enclosure with a waterfall and all haha but i agree with you haha it would be a pain in the ass to clean a giant tub every single day....:P

Fantastic looking snake? How big is she currently? And how old? Looking forward to when my male conda calms down enough to handle that freely :) He is still a little worm though, so I understand his frustration with me touching him, haha.

Shes about 7 feet now. Shes 4 years old. She was a horrible feeder when we got her. She wouldnt take anything from us for over 7 months. Nothing at all. I tried everything. Everytype of food and every trick I had read on the net about getting them to eat. They usually will take baby chicks no problem but she wouldnt have anything to do with them and then one day all the sudden the started taking rats. But she would eat one then refuse for 3 months then eat one and refuse for 2 weeks and so on and so on for about a year. Then she finally started eating them weekly for me. And I tried her on rabbits and she ate rabbits GREAT for about 6 months and then went off feed again and now all she will take is rats again she has no interest in rabbits at all anymore but at least she is still eating something now. Shes a pain in the butt sometimes but she is def my favorite out the collection. She always has been. Her strength is amazing. Shes harder to handle then my 13-14 foot lavendar albino retic. I cant wait to see how much fun its going to be cleaning her cage when shes 16 feet.

I really want one. Is it normal for them to go off feed that long or was yours just being difficult?

It depends usually captive bred babies will eat normally. I never had a problem with my male eating. He was 3 years old and twice the size of her

When I had a green back in the '90's, it was the same story. Didn't eat a thing for 5 months. Tried everything, and then whammo - she's hungry. After that, however, she was a consistently excellent feeder. Kept her for three years and she got to about 12 feet. You're right too on the strength; unbelievable. I was once cleaning out her kiddie pool, and there was still some of her on my shoulders so I figured I could handle any situation. She, however, was out the door, 8 feet away, and starting to go between enclosures. She got her head and about 6 inches of neck in there and I could not, for the life of me, get her back out. I had to wait til she settled in behind the enclosures (a 3 stack of 8x4x2's), muscle them out of the way (I could move that stack of cages but couldn't pull 8 inches of anaconda from between two cages, get the picture?), and retrieve her. I miss her greatly (traded her for a Clark tiger retic - back then still worth a good dollar), but my yellow female is awesome, too!

shes sweet as can be most of the time. She likes me and my wife. But its almost as if she gets nervous if you have her out when other people are over. She will start musking an its not pleasant
