Re: is it weird that she is green?
One of my spiders has a yellow stripe down his back that kind of looks green. I don't think I've seen anything like that on a normal. Pics!
-
Yeah pictures are going to help a ton! I can't really imagine a normal turning green, so any pictures are going to help us figure out what is going on.

your right, im gonna have to bug her and take out the nice camera for once and catch the green! be back in a flash! with updated pics!
-
ok the camera's not picking up the green its just coming out brown!!! blast!
how can i take the pic and get her natural color on? the flash is whats killing it!?
-
Do you have a flourescent light around the house you can get close to? Cool white flourescents or bulbs over 8,000 K will produce a cool white light that helps bring out the colors in snakes. UVB lights are the best since they provide a nice full spectrum of color.

i tried a couple in her critter condo, its got a flourescent bulb in there with white walls, but still no flash the camera picks up this rich caramel brown,
with flash it comes out super bright be it beautiful brown but not the green you see in person! its driving me crazy!

Try tomorrow in the daylight. I couldn't get a decent pic of my axanthic until I tried that.

I have two normal females that have a green tint to their brown spots if you look on a certain angles! I would not worry about it unless she doesn't act like herself!

wait r u srsly telling me you can see the green!!!!!
i just took a color blind test because i sometimes mistake purple for blue and blue for purple and sometimes other colors!
if you see the green someone please tell me because im being told im color blind and the test says no im not!!!
-
No, I can't really see it... so either "dembonez" was being sarcastic, or we're both colorblind! :D
By any chance, have you ever kept her on newspaper bedding? I keep most of mine on newspaper, and from time to time they'll get it wet & turn funny colors! Other than that, I'm not sure what would cause this... my Mojave is greenish, but it's not typically seen on normals.

Re: is it weird that she is green?
It's normal - they'll all go through different subtle color differences, sometimes brought on by hormones. I know exactly what you're describing, as I have a girl that has an olive tint to her so that she looks green as well. It really is cool to see and almost impossible to capture in pictures.
I also have a mojave male that is glowing like a gravid female right now that makes him look like a hypo mojave. And yes, I know he's a male, because he's sired clutches for me! LOL
-
My guess is that dembonez was looking at the first pick, where you get the blue-ish green along her back because of the angle.
Was there supposed to be another green?
Perhaps a youtube video would work better?

I doubt he'll be able to catch it by pictures OR video. It really is something that you need to see in person to "get". It's just an olive green hue to the animal. Reminds me almost of the color of Extra Virgin Olive Oil - the really dark ones.
-
Hmm, yeah she looks normal to me, but if what Robin says is true, i can see it happening. Regardless, shes a good looking girl!
-
I've seen that green thing as well.
One of my het pied girls went green after a shed, really freaked me out because I had no clue what it was. She went back to normal after her next shed.

thats exactly it!!!!! you hit the nail on the head!
its is like an olive green!!! and no i tried the video and camera day light flor. nothing catches it!
its incredible! if its hormones would that mean she's in the mood for love?

There is a baby at the store who has 2 yellow dots on its face and is tan/green unfortunatlly i cant take pictures to show you, policys n crap.
-
yeah its pretty intence to see!
i dont care she has always surprised me with weird color phases.
she used to look entirley normal.
now she is green, these big yellow fadeings from her belly to her sides,
white outlines of her alien head since i got her have become more pronouced.
a very faded head that wasn't there a year ago and has faded more
with each shed.
she's special cuz she's mine! her names sookie and sookie's special!

Re: is it weird that she is green?
Green or not, she's beautiful! I think I fall in love with ball pythons a little bit more each day simply because each and every one is so different and special in its own way. :D
