What Ghost morphs are compatible?
lets say, are green ghosts compatible with orange ghosts? and if so what would the offspring look like also why arent there alot of green ghosts available it seems odd to me just saying I have been trying to do some research the past couple months with little success. may seem broad but curious to hear input. THANKS ALOT
Re: What Ghost morphs are compatible?
I think there are two different morphs called "green ghosts".
You used to hear about green ghosts that where compatible with the larger group. I even seem to remember NERD posting once that he started one of the other lines (orange?, yellow?) by selectively breeding green ghosts. But recently I've heard of green ghosts that might not be compatible with most of the ghosts. The other incompatible line I remember is Graziani's G1. Oh, and reportedly the original name sake of the ghost mutation was something different but that line might have died out completely and been replaced by what we now call ghost (or hypo if you are a purest).

yea but a blue hypo bred to a regular hypo (orange, yellow, butterscotch, ect.) won't make more hypos, it makes double hets. Where a regular hypo x hypo makes more hypos. green hypos seems to be up for debate, along with other lines of hypo.

Many breeders dont like the fact some are floating around as normal ghosts/hypos and this gives bad results in pairings.
Who's "extreme hypo" are you talking about?
TSK is the only breeder I’ve noticed using that name and they ARE compatible with the larger group. TSK are sticklers for using "hypo" rather than "ghost" (which was a combo in corn snakes way before morph balls where bred). However, TSK has their founding extreme hypo female listed as “green hypo” in the linage for their extreme hypo and mojave hypo hatchlings.
I produced this hypo a couple years ago from a descendent of TSK's extreme hypo to a ball that traces back to whatever Brian Sharp was selling years ago (his 2005 price list reports "butterscotch/yellow"):

Re: What Ghost morphs are compatible?
I think the few people with lines that aren't compatible with the larger group know it and will tell you. Now if people start trying for a double homozygous (might be double ghostly?) then there could be some confusion down the line.
Anyone know if desert ghost has been bred to the other lines? It's enough different looking that I think it's assumed not to be compatible but just wondering if it's actually been put to the test.
Re: What Ghost morphs are compatible?
Not sure if this link will work or not but if you pick any of the extreme hypo or mojave het/homo hypo animals at ballpython.com and look up their lineage you should get to this founder girl:

Who produced your pastel green ghost male? They should be able to tell you if he is from one of the older green ghost lines that is compatible with the majority of the other lines or from whatever this new green ghost line is that I keep hearing isn't compatible. Who has these new green ghosts anyway?
