Back online ...

Welcome! We've changed hosts to get away from the troubles we were having with our previous host. It will take us a while to finish setting up here, so please pardon our dust while we're building. Unfortunately, an essential table with thread information was missing from the other host, so while we actually have posts through 3/7, only threads through 12/30/04 can be read. All users who registered through 3/7/05 should find their accounts ready on this new site, however.

If you have any trouble, please let us know and we'll try to sort it out. Thanks for your patience and understanding! We know we have the greatest community of herpers on the net and you will end up happier with the new site when we're done rebuilding.

Not yet, but there will be! We are still working hard on bringing the site up to full functionality -- which will actually include more functions and features than we had before. You can link a photo from elsewhere, including Kingsnake.

Did all the images in the photo gallery get deleted, or are they being moved? Since.. I don't have my avatar on my computer, it was only in the gallery.

Ooooh, this is fun!! I'm so happy the site is back. :D

I downloaded the entire contents of the gallery. There is really a lot of work for one person to do to restore this site, particularly while doing it during the workday at a paying job. Smulkin pitched in with some of the setup, and all of the Admin Council will be helping to migrate content (caresheets and such), but I am having to do most of the work and can only do a couple of things at a time. Further, I still have no working pc at home and Smulkin and Smynx are on vacation for the weekend, so whatever isn't done by 5 or 6 pm today, don't expect it to be done before Monday. Expect this to include image galleries, as there are higher priority issues. I hope to have that set up next week, along with chat and various other features, but it will very much depend on how busy my employer keeps me. Thanks for your patience.

Shelby, it's ok. I was just trying to clarify what it's going to take so we don't get flooded with people wanting to know why x isn't working yet and if anyone is doing anything around here.

Daniel, yep, we now have reputations in place, but that is subject to change if the system appears to be getting abused or a waste of time. Expect the site to look a lot like it does currently for a bit and then to gradually move to an all-new design. Mlededee has graciously offered to help us out with that. We are on a completely new server with completely new software.

Awsome! Man this makes me not want to change servers..lol.. I know this is a pain for you guys and it is very much appricated!!!!

I (and everyone else, I am sure) really appreciate all the work you guys/gals are doing for the site. I really missed it while it was gone, and am really happy that it's back. I am sure it'll be better than ever when all is said and done.

Thanks Cody, Steel, Gin. We will get it up to full force ASAP. I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the new host disabling temporary addressing before the old host updated the DNS, preventing everyone from reaching us for 24 hours or more. Now that the domain name is pointing where it should, that problem won't come up again and we can get on with hanging the curtains and arranging the furniture.

Bear with us please while we get lots of stuff converted, transferred and otherwise generally gussied all up for you patient folks. I went through last night and saved all of the user galleries from our old host and while not yet transferred over be assured they are all safe and sound ;)

Anytime - just keep in mind we've got folks burning the candles at both ends and actually spending more hours on this than they do at their regular 40+ hr/wk jobs and all efforts are being made.

Yay! I just got home from Nova Scotia, I'm glad to see this place is back online! I am completely lost though, I've got noooo idea where anything is on here, lol. Oh well, guess I'll have to get used to it!
