    Female striking at male.
Alright, question time. I just tried to reitroduce my male with my female and she started striking at him. I took him back out right away. Could this mean that she is done breeding?

Means she doesn't want that male in with her. I'd wait a week or so and maybe try again.

Are you sure it's a female? I only ask in case this is the first time breeding her.

She just ate 3 days ago and they have locked up more than a dozen times over the last month. I'm positive that she is female. This is the same male that she has been locking up with.

That may be. I was just asking if it was an indication that she doesn't want to accept him anymore, as to say she is done breeding and is getting ready to ovulate. Hey, might be a preovulation shed coming up. I hope, I hope, I hope!!!:banana:

Slow down a bit on breeding them. They don't need to copulate every 3 days. You can do every other week and be perfectly fine

A big breeder here told me that he only breeds every female once per shed cycle so he doesn't exhaust his males with great success. I think its a little too early to expect preov shed! It takes alot of locks before you get there!

I definitely agree with the first part, one or 2 times a month is fine. The second part is not entirely accurate though. It's all about where the female is in her cycle if she's just about there already it wouldn't take that many locks to trigger her OV

I am following the 3 on 3 off schedule. They would lock up multiple times during the 3 on. I have been pairing them for about a month on this schedule. I didn't let stay together the whole month. 3 days with her then seperate and feed. Allow 3 days for digestion then back in he goes for 3 more days. Now she started striking at him.
