Dessert enchi or Enchi pied???
If you were able to choose from 2 snakes for an attempt to create new morphs from one of these morphs, assuming that you had all the right genetics for these future morphs to be created, which would you choose????
Desert Enchi Ball Python
or
Enchi Pied Ball Python
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Re: Dessert enchi or Enchi pied???
I would go with enchi desert ( I think its been done already ). Pied gene seems to throw its own pattern so it would be hard to tell you have an enchi.

The enchi pied actually makes almost an entire patterned snake. Only the bottom is pied.

OK I didn't know it had been done. Does look pretty cool. Has it proven consistent with morph? Does it always have a full pattern with only a white belly?.
Desert enchi is indeed a tiger.

And yea the nickname for them are Tigers, but the genetic banded was also named Tiger to. Its wierd and i dont get how they did that, but it is what it is. Desert tigers are still super expensive but super smokin!!! But imagine a desert enchi pied!!! Cant do it with out the pied gene thow. Thats how I look at it. I would always go with the pied first, and then add into it.

Its still pretty new, but kevin over at Nerd says that it seems to have altered the pied gene almost in a way that is opposite to what the spider gene did to the pieds. But I know that there are a few out thier and they all seem to look pretty similar in that the enchi gene takes it over. But the plus to me is that the pied gene blows out the pattern crazy!!!

Other way around would be better :P
Super pastel enchi pied
I wonder if super enchi pied is still a whole-patterned snake.

The super enchi looked to me like a blurry version of the enchi pied? So I think they will still play together nicely.
Anyway, is it really that enchi pied is a "whole-patterned snake", or just that the enchi gene doesn't do anything extreme to reduce pied pattern the way spider and champagne and cinnamon do? And it was just lucky that the first enchi pieds were low-white?

it could be luck. But knowing kevin at nerd, he wouldnt show off a snake unless he has bred it a few times before. Its his way of staying ahead of the game. And i believe sloan reptiles also did this. So it seems to be that the enchi gene really does something else to the eqaution. But next year we will know for sure.

I am a pied fan first and foremost so I would have to say Enchi Pied first and than Desert Enchi ;)

Re: Dessert enchi or Enchi pied???
I would stay away from the desert gene with all the fertility issues with the females. Enchi pieds are pretty amazing. I've got some projects in the works. Here's my Enchi pied male I hatched last yearhttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/01/8u9apazu.jpg
Highest white one I've seen. Most of the time it completely brings the pattern back in pieds. It's a great starting point for other pied projects

Yes it is a full pattern snake.
