Another question, are these hairless babies?
These are another first for me, and I'm thinking they are hairless babies? I know I've read that hairless babies are born with hair and it falls out, and I don't know what else they could be. The mom must be a het for hairless, because she's just a normal black berkshire, the dad was a hairless.

The ratio is: 2 normals, 2 pink hairless, 1 black hooded hairless, and 2 black berk hairless. Assuming the weird fur means they are hairless.

Look like hairless to me. My recessive hairless developed weird fuzzy fur and curled whiskers. So far (the boys I kept are large size now) mine seem to be keeping that peachy fuzz w/ long crinkled guard hairs.

    Cute ratties :)

Dad's probably a double rex hairless, so those are possibly regular rex babies. They have curly whiskers and wavy fur.

    They are hairless for sure.

Those babies are definitely not rex, and probably not double rex, since there are no rexes in the litter.

They look more like rex coated babies to me than hairless.

And those babies look hairless to me, but I could be wrong.

Hairless rats start out with a curly thin coat, and then lose it Ninjette. These look nothing like baby rex rats. Baby rex rats have super thick curly coats as babies. :P

Yep. I tried replying on my phone earlier, but I guess it didn't work. I was agreeing that they couldn't be rexes or double rexes considering mom is normal and dad is hairless. I've had rex babies before and they weren't mangy like these guys, so I'm pretty sure they are hairless, they really can't be anything else.

Although I didn't think about him being double rex hairless.... hmm.... But I still think they look pretty mangy for rex babies. Here's a rex baby I had, a tad older sure, but still, you get the idea http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...rats/022-1.jpg

If mom is a standard coat those have to be recessive hairless since you can't make a double rex without both parents being at least a rex.
