What to put in a 50 gal Exo-Terra?
    Hi everyone!

    Recently i picked up a 36"x18"x18" Exo-Terra terrarium, I beleive it's equivalent to a 50 gallon (or so i've read)

I've been doing tons of research on what to get but i just can't decide. So i was wondering if anyone wanted to give me thier opinions on what would do well in said terrarium.

I've looked at everything from ball pythons to jeweled lacertas...i'm just too indecisive! LOL

    All opinions are welcome! thanks!

I been liking the crested geckos. You would be able to house good 5+ Cresties in a tank that size.

Your tank sounds like its its closer to 40 gallon. I just measured one of my 40 gallons and its almost identical to your measurements. Either way, I say get a corn snake or a male red-tail boa. Those could live their entire life in a 40 gal tank.

all good options....even the jell-o lol

i've really been liking carpets and boas.....what about a male irian jaya or jungle carpet python? or a male hogg isle boa?

would i have to upgrade to a bigger terrarium for these species after a year or so? or would they be ok? not that i mind upgrading enclosures.

i have to agree with cresties lol :) but thats cause i like them more, but i also wanted to say it is a 50 gallon, all you have to do to figure it out is multiply LxWxH then divide by 231, but whatever you decide on good luck

18x18x3' would be fine for a carpet python until they get some size on them. Even an IJ will need quite a bit more floor space than 18x18

if you havent had a snake before i say the ball, but its worth it to drop the money and get a nice morph.

GTP or ATB (Green tree python - Amazon tree boa) Those are intermediate level snakes, so if you have never owned a snake before. It might be a handful, but maybe not.

DART FROGS! :D They are really pretty and its cool to see them in a natural setting. Or red eye tree frogs, they are very cool too.
